SOURCE: Where is the fuel filter located for Buick Century 2001

The fuel filter is located underneath the car in front of the gas tank.
You have release the fuel pressure. Remove the fuel filler cap, locate the fuel test port on the fuel rail on the passenger side on the end of the right real fuel rail for a 3.1L engine.
3.8L engine yhr test port is located at the pressure regulator under the trim cover.

SOURCE: How to change a water pump on a 1999 Buick Century 3100?

the water pump on the 3.1 isnt to hard to change ...

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Partially drain the cooling system into a suitable container.
  3. Remove the drive belt guard.
  4. Loosen the water pump pulley bolts before removing the drive belt. This should help keep the pulley from turning as the bolts are loosened.
  5. Remove the drive belt. Remove the water pump pulley bolts and remove the pulley.
  6. Remove the water pump bolts and separate the pump from the engine front cover.

I got 2001buick century custom with a 3.1 v6 motor the engine is sideways where is the freeze plug located same with the Plymouth intakes

Your question is worded a bit strangely but I will attempt to answer what I think you're asking. You have a 2001 Buick Century with a Chevy 3.1 V6 mounted transverse (side to side). I believe there are four freeze plugs on that engine block, two on either side and visible from underneath. I don't know how easy or difficult they are to get to. If you change them yourself make sure you don't put tap water in the radiator afterward. Get distilled water from the grocery store for about 99 cents a gallon. It is free of minerals. Tap water is loaded with minerals that calcify and end up restricting coolant flow. Use a good antifreeze and if water is needed only use distilled water.

What causes 02 buick century that not running hot to show the guage hot and the fan running and temp light to show

1 How do you know it is not running hot? Engines run normally at close to 90 deg. C, that is, close to the boiling point of water. The pressure cap on the radiator ensures that the water does not steam off at this temperature.
2 If the engine is not running hot and the gauge shows that it does, the gauge is faulty, probably the sender unit. I am not sure of the Buick, but some cars have two senders, one for the gauge on the dash and the other for the radiator fan. If your car has only one, the information from the sender is probably used by the ecu to switch on the fan, so if the sender is faulty you will get the symptoms you describe.

I can't locate the radiator drain plug on my 2001 buick century. Help!

Not all radiators have them, just remove the lower radiator hose and spray hot water through it from the top till it comes out clear, usually works better anyhow... Note: if your coolant is nasty and all brown and gummed up its cause you have a leaking intake gasket and oil is mixing with your coolant,, if this is the case you may have to replace the radiator as well as the gasket on the intake..

Hoses

Hi there!

The only hoses that should go from engine through the firewall, are the Heater and Air con hoses.

If the hose has been replaced, the heating settings may have been mis-set. The PCV valve is nothing to do with them - it regulates the oil sump pressure and engine emissions.

If this hits the spot - Please spare a moment to rate as Fixya! Thanks.
