Question about 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 Truck

Turn Signals work intermitently on 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 Pickup

The turn signals on my 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 only work part of the time. Sometimes the left ones work, sometimes the right ones work. When I test the emergency flashers all 4 lights work. So all the lights are working. I can't seem to figure out where the signal flasher is located. My owner's manual only shows me where the fuse is located for the flashers. Is there something wrong with my turn signal switch?

My turn signals worked fine until last night when I ran my battery down and had to get a jump. I realized right away that my turn signals suddenly didn't work. My theory hasn't been tested, but I am going to unhook my battery cables and reconnect again to see if that does anything. If not, I'll check out the steering wheel and that big square thing by the fuses. Thank you for all the posts and I was so happy to find this web page!

I would think a bad TIPM would be your cause. It controls the body of the truck, and it should send a signal to your cluster as well. You will have to go to the dealer to know for sure, but that is the problem I see at my dealership most of the time when what you describe happens.

SOURCE: no turn signals............

If you look under the dash on the left hand side you will see the fuse area, behind this you should see a large ( about 1 - 2 inch) black square block. These usually sell for about 10 - 15 dollars each at the local auto stores. This is a link to a picture of them. Carry this into your local parts store and put in the new one and you should be good to go.

Please let me know if I can offer further assistance! I hope you found my answer helpful - if you need clarification please just ask me!

SOURCE: flasher location for signals

Hello
Welcome to FY
It is located on the drivers side, at the left side of instrument panel located on fuse block. It simply unplugs. They are usually round about the size of a silver dollar with 3 plugs. Can be plastic or metal

SOURCE: emergency flashers work but turn signals dont

Your signals work on a seperate system then your flashers. Sounds like your multifunction switch is busted.

On a 2002 dodge ram 1500 truck the brake lights and the turn signals and winshield wipers dont work the only brake light that works is above the cab. and the turn signal flashes on the dash like they are...

I suspect a bad multi function switch located in the left hand side of the steering column. This switch controls your high/low beams/wiper delay/windshield washer/turn signals and hazards.
