Merc 190e hi i got a mercedes 190e it wont rev over 3000 revs it takes ages to get there ive changed the fuel pump and filter plugs and leads and still no help ...... ive been told told it could be in limp mode if so how do i get it sorted ........any help would be brill ...its h reg 90

The 4.0 and the 5.2 engines are dauntless. I expect something external to the engine such as I've listed

Have the OBD scan checked for engine error codes!!

1. Very dirty air Cleaner/Mouse nest in air box
2. Dirty fuel filter -starving for gas
3. Failing Fuel Pump
4. In tank fuel filter
5. Plugged catalytic converter

Have the fuel pressure checked

The fuel filter is probably plugged.

check fuel pump pressure first ,

You must be having a check engine light or maintenance coming up on the dashboard, if yes the best way to start troubleshooting this problem is to run a diagnostic test on the vehicle.Also after changing the mass air flow meter did you reset the ECM ?If not then this is required after any repair you do.Hope this helps.

You could have 2 problems. The hard start in the AM could be a bad fuel accumulator and or check valve in the fuel pump. The engine cutting out could be a bad idle stabilization valve, dirty throttle body and housing or a bad 02 sensor, could also be just a CO adjustment. Where are you located?

well the problem mostly is from
MAF sensor
so try to clean it or change it other wise check the fuel filter and fuel pressure regulator

It is below the tank on the rear passenger side. There is a plastice cover under the car, you have to remove it to expose the filter. It is next to the Fuel Pump.

Hi have a 411 cdi Merc Sprinter, when rev past 3000 engine cuts out, will start again no problem.

My car is a 1.8 - E 190 , 1993 model. The car is in a good condiction and done only 93,000 miles. It never gave me any problems up to now and for that reason I love it. The problem developed last week is that, it is difficult to start and when it starts sometimes it does not rev up and the engine cuts off. The ignition side is OK with new spark plugs, rotor arm and adistributer head. The hi-tension leads seems OK. I sort advise from people with Merc knowledge. There suggestion is perhaps it is the malfunctioning of the fuel pump relay. I have difficulty in locating this part. Can anyone please advice me how to overcome this problem and the location of the fuel pump relay. I am a professional Mecanical Engineer with reasonable knowledge in car mechanics.
