look into the ignition relay, coolant sensor. Scan the ecu for any leads (codes)

I have a 95 kia sportage with a code #3 distributer G signsl fault code #34 idle solinoid #56idle speed control valve open or short


this will probably be best sorted out by a kia repairer who know's the ecu/pcm operation as could be a loose wire or need a new ecu,sensor,switch ,i know this is basic advice but you really do need to get an expert to actually look at the vehicle, as i could tell you to change the ecu and it may just need a wire reconnection hope this helps

No voltage to throttle body on a suzuki samuri


this this all stock car, as most sammi are vastly modified, now.
common mod is put in Sidekick G16B engine.
so is it stock 1.3L?
that be first question, and if car is EFI and is stock or G16
the TPS needs 5vdc from the ECU.
if the ECU 5vdc ref pin is dead there are only 2 causes.
1: ECU bad.
2: this line is shorted.

1992 had 3 engines. 1.3 , 1.6 TBI and 1.6 MPI
throttle body or Multipoint injection (4 injectors) vastly different.
ECU TBI , pin a23 is 5vdc, if the map shorts, this can blow out the 5vde regulator,
ECU MPI. pin B6 runs only the TPS. sensors. (simple)

best practice here is to post displacement of engine,
and ECU part number. ECU suffix is all we need. and bingo.
I have all Suz, part. number, in my book. for all parts and all ECU.
(usa and canada)

The ECU shops (cardone is tops in USA) the first test
is the 5v pin, #1 off the dime. that.
the Sidekick ECU 8valve ECU. TBI , the 5vdc pin loves to burn the
pcb trace to kingdom come.

Vehicle not starting


are you getting lights and ignition display. when you turn ignition do you hear a clicking sound ? there is a ignition control relay/ computer this will stop engine from running and will stop the ecu from being read. it is fitted under the dash usually behind the steering console. check this first before changing the ecu.

Check the pcm ground pins to make sure they are grounded. 6, 28, 34, and 55.

2002 kia sportage good batt good alternater good fuses and the alternater still not charging battery


not sure on this model but i think the alternator is sensed and activated by the ECU ,look on the back and see how many wires you have ,now the big thick heavy cable should have a permanant 12v supply ,one of the other two wires is the warning light control and the other one is the senseing cable for the ECU ,now this one you connect to the ignition switch supply so its activated when you turn ignition on .Yes i know what the so called experts say but old cars were self exciting alternators and the reason its done by the ECU is save fuel by turning the alternator off when current consumption is low with daytime running.Not sure what the colours are for the two wires but look on the back of the nalternator and the warning light could be marked with WL .or find out in the handbook or disconnect them one at a time to locate the warning light .

I have a 2002 Kia ECU system fuse burning all the time


Assuming the correct fuse is being used, there is a short somewhere in the wiring leading to the ECU or in the ECU itself. If no modification has been done to the wiring (such as aftermarket radio or alarm), the ECU may be bad. A dealership may be able to test the ECU if you remove it, but will probably charge for the service. You may be able to find a cheap ECU at a junkyard for the same cost. You can use an ammeter to check power consumption at the fuse slot. If there is more than rated amperage consumption with the key on, engine off and ECU in, there is a short. Remove the ECU and recheck. If there is more than about a hundred milliamps with the ECU out, the short is in wiring. If not, the short is in the ECU. If there has been modification to the wiring, check it for shorts or exposed wires, and remove the mods if possible. You may also be able to get a pinout for the ECU from Kia and check for incorrect shorts to ground on each pin using a self-powered continuity tester.

check the belt,if its out it will flag up this code,your car will run on sequential firing from the crankshaft sensor,failing that put an oscilloscope on the signal wire at the sensor and ecu its possible the ecu might not be seeing the signal,start with the basics first
