They are saying that they can not discern the exact radio by the vin, and want to remove it to get its serial # and then access code......there is another vin ..body/paint /accessories codes that they could use (without removing radio) IMO..usually found in glove box or drivers door jam with the numbers they need....try calling another dealer and getting a parts guy to work with you to guide you to the numbers he needs...good luck

I have a mitsubishi diamante, and i got a new battery and now I need the radio code that I dont have. I don know how to remove my radio to get the serial number. Can I have information about the best way...

In the USA anyone can get their radio code for free direct from Mitsubishi by telephone. You will need the following information:
Last 8 characters of your VIN # Radio Serial Number
Call Mitsubishi:
1-888-648-7820, option 1, option 4 Current hours: 6am to 5pm Pacific, M-F.
Tell representative that you replaced your battery and now need your radio code. If you are not currently a registered owner, they will ask for your info for registration. ==============================================================
If not in the USA then sorry....Main MITSUBISHI Dealer or Radio Decoding Service only for this code
It will not be available for free or cheap from anywhere on the Internet

NO RADIO CODE

You may be out of luck on this. When the power is disconnected (like in replacing a battery or if the radio was removed or stolen from a car) then you have to enter a code to activate it. Call the dealer and ask if they can help you with the code and procedures. Your owner's manual should have the procedure listed in it but the code should have been in the papers that came with your car when it was new. Again the dealer is your best bet. They will need your vehicle VIN and maybe even the radio serial number. There are some web sites that offer to sell you radio codes but I have had good luck with the dealers giving me them free.

Need to decode my radio i have a 1998 mitsubishi diamante and i changed the battary and my radio is saying code

One of two things needs to happen...
There should be a small "reset" button you have to use a ball point pin or something like a toothpick, on the face of the radio. With the sterio in the on position, push and hold for a couple seconds.

Second, call your local Mitsu dealer "parts dept" with your VIN number. They should be able to supply a generic code. :-)

Radio says code after cleaning battery cable and reattaching the battery cables to battery is there some kinda master code to rest it?

Yes and no. You will have to call the dealer and tell them you vin. If its the OEM radio they will be able to give you the code for it by matching the vin and serial number from the radio. Hope this helps.

I had to replace the battery in my 1995 mitsubishi diamante and now my stereo requires a code to unlock it..how do I get this code?

Hi there,

You are not alone. Here's how to get the code.
Copy down the VIN number of your vehicle and serial number of the radio (if you can get to it).
Call Mitsubishi. Ask for the service department.
Tell them your situation.
They will give you the code and procedure to enter it.
That's it!
