99 ford expedition front heater core location

Front heater core location

I am having a problem getting the heat in my 98 Ford Expedition to get hot. One suggestion I just received was that the heater coil is bad and need to be changed. The coolant is not leaking inside of my truck and that is the sign that the heater coil is bad. If the heater coil is not bad in my truck, what may be causing my heat not to get hot? Also would anyone be able to tell me how to check and make sure that the valves to the heater coil hoses are working properly?

How do I change the blend door actuator on a 1997 Ford Expedition

This is a big job. You have to drop steering colum, dash, etc. about 6-8 hour job just to get to the heater core where the blend door is located. Go to youtube and look for video on "heater core replacement ". The video is great. they show you all the hidden bolts and screws. The door is on the front side of heater core. It costs about 15-20 bucks at oreillys auto parts. A tough job for a cheap part. Good luck. I did mine in 2 days. First day disassemble and 2nd day assemble. Take your time. The dealer will charge you 800-1200 dollars for the job.

Is the rear heater core in the same box as the front heater core?

No, it's in back where you feel the heat come out. Sometimes you can locate them by looking underneath vehicle towards back look for heater hoses similar to those found under hood.

Heater core removal on a 99 ford expedition

To remove the heater core on this truck the entire dash must be removed, the A/C drained, and the coolant drained, once the dash is out you can access the environmental station, which houses the a/c and heater cores. The heater hoses to the core and a/c lines to evaporator core are quick disconnect and require a special tool. After removing the environmental station, disassemble the station by removing the screws, then you will be looking at the inside of the station, the core on the left side is the heater, the door is the blend door, and the core on the right is the a/c core. Re-install in reverse of disassembly, fill coolant and charge a/c. If you are not comfortable with this depth of repair I would find a reputable repair shop in your area and take it in for this repair. Hope this helps, let me know.

Heater cord ford expedition 01 5.7liter where is it located and how hard is it to change?

Dear Heater Core Hunter,
For your 01 expedition, that has the 5.4 liter motor in it, the heater core is located in the evaporator case assembly, where the blowermotor itself is located,This is a pretty darn good labor intensive job, if you open the passenger front door and get down onyour knees and look up underneath the dash.....that's what you're going to be removing and replacing, the heater core is inside of this black case. Please get back to me if you have any more questions...I'M HERE TO HELP!!!

Heater valve

there is no heater control valve in this truck, heat control is done through what are called blend doors. So the issue may be the front blend door motor has failed, this is very common on all Ford heatimng systems except the Focus.
