How do i remove the fan and fan clutch from my 1995 jeep grand cherokee? The water pump pulley is pressed on. When I try to turn the big nut, the pulley turns. How do i stop this?

Leave the serpentine belt on. Get a wrench or use a crescent wrench, hit to the left to loosen. It may take a few hits to loosen but will work. If not, use an air hammer.

Disconnect battery, remove bolts holding fan shroud, at the water pump where the fan shaft attaches. Unscrew the nut. It will remove the fan from water pump, lift out fan and shroud, 4 bolts holding clutch to fan.

I need to know how to remove the fan clutch shaft from the water pump on a 95 jeep grand cherokee with a v8 clutch shaft looks like it might have reverse threads??

The fan unscrews counter clockwise when facing the engine compartment. A large cresent wrench can be rapped with a hammer, or there is also a speciality tool that can be purchased..

How to replace timing cover gasket on a '97 jeep grand cherokee

Pull the alternator brackets and front engine brackets off until you get to the water pump. You will also need to remove the fan shroud and then the fan. Remove the water pump and then you will see an aluminum cover and that will be your timing cover. remove the cover and clean all the gasket off the engine and the cover. use a razor blade, and make sure there in no oil or grease on the parts where the gasket lies. Put your gasket on, bolt the cover back on with the new gasket and repeat the teardown process in reverse.
