I am trying to install a new radio and during the process the clock, door open light and the interior lighting stopped working. The odometer trip also resets each time the car is started. Also the +12v memory on the harness is not receiving power.
All the fuses are fine, not sure what is wrong.

I take it you mean that the radio stops working completely once the headlights are switched on. So if you sit in the car during daylight hours and turn the lights off and on, the radio does the same except the other way round (lights off, radio on). Have I got that right?
It cannot be the fuse because the radio wouldn't work at all if it had blown. The wiring may well be the problem. Something is either shorting or I am thinking that there is not enough power (for whatever reason) to run both lights and radio at the same time, although the battery draw on a radio is relatively low. Is your battery charging correctly? Does it happen if you open all doors and the interior lights operate. Try opening all the doors and turning headlights off and on. Do the interior lights turn off and on like the radio does?
The radio receives power from the 15A AUDIO FUSE in the dash fuse box. The radio memory receives power from the 10A DOME LIGHT FUSE in the same box. The problems you note suggest the radio may have been misconnected at some point or there has been a fuse failure or there is a broken connection.
Check the fuse box in the engine compartment and look for the interior illumination fuse. Before you replace it you will need to unplug the radio harness and check the new unit's memory lead, the switched 12 volt lead, and the Ground wire. Somewhere one or two of these have been either connected incorrectly or the wires were pinched when the dash was reassembled.
Also check the fuse in the new unit's harness and make sure it is ok. Here are the basic power wires in the Tacoma...yellow is 12v constant, red is accessory (turns on with key),and black is ground. If there is a blue wire, it needs 12 volts when the car is running and the radio is turned on. Check your new unit's wiring diagram for the power antenna or amplifier turn-on lead and connect that to the blue wire. Good luck
Better check the battery as it sure sounds like its dead. The charging system could be at fault also A brand new battery can run down and need a charge if the charging system isnt doing its job Hope this helps you .Good luck!
The clock works, correct? It is just not illuminating when your headlights are turned on? If this is the case then it is most likely that you have 2 burned out bulbs. The forester clock bulb is Sylvania bulb part #2723
Hope that helps! I have a bunch of clock related info on my website www.autoclockrepair.com. Let me know if I can be of assistance.
there most likely a short in your door sensor that tells the system the door is shut, and to shut out the interior light fords are notorious for this this sensor is on the same circuit as the speedo, odometer, and o/d.
I have no clue what's going on with the interior lights coming on. You might want to check the switch in the door that tells the car if the door is open or not. As for the radio cutting out, check the connections from it to the car. When I installed my new radio, I slid it in wrong and it pulled apart one of the wires I had twisted together and that kept my radio from working, so it could be a loose, not broken connection that would cause intermittent operation. It is also possible to have to do with the switch I mentioned. I know some cars the radio will continue to operate even once the keys are removed until the door opens and then the radio stops. I wish I could help more, but these are things to potentially check out.
