Question about 1997 Chevrolet Blazer
Mine did the samething you have check if there is any transmission fluid in your transfer case. because i didn't and i put more in and the grinding went away.

Front grinding noise in 2 high,but put it in 4 hight the grinding noise gos away

This means it is not completly disengaging from 4x4 and you probly need a clutch ajustment

Try changing the front axles thats what i had to do on mine
