6 or 8 cyl ? Were you driving down the road when it happened ?

Usually the ignition module is inside the dist and that fires the coil. The coil is either in the cap or mounted on the intake manifold.
If the truck has over 100,000 miles the timing chain could be off. A timing light would tell you.

SOURCE: I have gotten a P0306 Cylinder 6 Misfire Code on a

I investigated this for over an hour while tossing things around in my head and truly think that you need to have your O2 censor checked along with your converter. One probable cause to your misfire could very well stem from your catalytic converter due to an O2 faulty etc.etc. Why not try a smog shop before tearing that engine apart any further and replacing any unnecessary gaskets. Thats a tight engine in my opinion and unless you really mistreat it, I would bet on it at race day. Have you recently been in a fender bender? Let us know cause that might change my advice.

1995 geo metro humid weather starting problems 3 cylinder

Next time it doesn't start, spray your plug wires and distributor cap with WD40. If it fires right up replace your plug wires. I had the same problem with my 3 cyl 1.0L .

1998 nissan frontier xe 4 cyl auto misfire cyl #2 engine vibrates like a bad sparkplug when driving

To review - - do you know for a fact the distributor is firing that cylinder? And do you have power and a ground pulse for that injector ?
You say no vac leak, but have you done a compression test on all cylinders ? Is it possible the egr valve is leaking and affecting that cylinder ?

Spark plug misfiring what is the cause

Could be these things, most likely down to the least likely.
1) A bad spark plug wire. They can cause this even though you cannot see it happening.
One way to see it is if you look at the wires on a dark night with the headlights off (so the motor is running in pitch black darkness), sometimes it will show up then.
2) A bad spark plug connector, the part that holds the wire and pushes onto the plug.,
3) A bad spark plug, can misfire sometimes.
4) A crack or hole in the distributor cap, can be invisible unless you try # 1.
5) A bad rotor.
Be blessed.

I have a 2001 dodge ram 1500 4wd and three codes came up P 300 p 301 and p 308 what are these ??? help please!!

The codes mean as follows
PO300 multiple cylinder misfires
PO301 #1 cylinder misfire
PO308 #8 cylinder misfire
Some of the more common causes for these codes popping at once are, if you went through a big
puddle and the engine and wires are wet or the distributor cap and/or wires are bad or the camshaft
sensor(located inside dist cap) is bad and sending false signals. Hope this helps.

Runs rough, misses, sometimes then clears up.

You have a cylinder misfire. You need to check the distributor, wires, and pull the plugs because something is not firing the fuel mixture in one or more of your cylinders at timew. you can do the plugs yourself for the most part. I dont know how the 6 cyl looks in the engine compartment of the wrangler, but from my experience with a 96 XJ, number 6 cylinder is very difficult to get to because of the interior air intake vents. if all the plugs seem fine, you may want to take it into a shop for a distrubutor and wire check
