I smell ocassionaly a burnt toast smell while running the heater, not all the time, but just sometimes. I checked for coolant leaks and found none.
This is caused by in most cases dry tree leaf getting particles into the heating duct through the air intake at the base of the windshield, this material contacts the red hot blower motor speed control resistor and burns, and yes it smells like burnt toast, in order to clean this stuff out u need to remove the blower motor, the material will be in the duct near it. I have seen this cause a fire, so get it checked and cleaned ASAP.
