Question about 1997 Subaru Impreza

2 Answers

My father has a Hyundai Getz 1.3 3dr petrol model. If it is left for over 12 hours the battery is completely flat. It has been looked at a number of times and the garage can find nothing wrong with it. It has had a new battery put in and the same thing is still happening. The immobiliser has had to be turned off as this runs the battery down even faster. Do you have any ideas as to what the problem could be, as they are an elderly couple who rely on their vehicle and the Hyundai garage are of no help, thank you.

Well you could have a short,or you could have a negotive charge on the battery witch will cause it to act like it is powering something and it will run the battery down if you take a multi-meter and test the plastic on the battery and it put off a reading through the multi-meter then it has a negotive charge and thats what is running your battery dead..

look at right side of engine next to battery where the leads start, they go in the following order 2, 3, 4, 1. On mine they are marked in that order starting at the front of the car, I believe that cylinder 1 is on the left as you look at engine

I was always taught 4 cylinders were 1-3-4-2 with cylinder number 1 being the left hand one as you look into the engine bay from the front.

Hi my hyundai getz 2003 1,3gl model left lights on killed battry kick started it drove it and left to idle for about 30 minutes switch it off and now still not starting battry or the immobilzer

If everything was ok before you left your lights on then the battery needs a full charge! The battery will not receive a full charge by idling, to charge the battery you need to take it on a long run in top gear such as a motorway for about 15 to 30 minutes!

HYUNDAI GETZ 1.3 2005 A/C NO SPARK NO FUEL

Some info about the car can be found
The Korean Car Guide Hyundai Getz Part II Engine

The failure to start could be due to the Crank Timing Sensor. The sensor not working will stop the computer from knowing when the spark should be activated and the injection of the fuel should take place.
I hope this is the problem. and that you can find
This is only my opinion and It seems to fit the problem posted

Hi my partner's father has a Hyundai Getz 54 reg. The battery was totally flat and had to be removed from the car to re-charge. Everything now ok except the radio/CD will not work. Its flashing when little...

See if you can find the original documentation that came with the vehicle - especially anything that would have been provided when the vehicle was originally purchased. If you cannot find these documents you will need to contact Hyundai. What you will be looking for is a code to enter for the radio - the code is an anti-theft device / deterrent so proof of ownership of the radio may need to be provided in the form of the seial number of the radio.
