Transmission doesnt pick up on 3rd and 4th gear, it slips
Unfortunately once the transmission clutch packs start to slip like this you will need the transmission removed and rebuilt. There is no other fix.

There are to many things that can cause this problem, best thing to is go get the ECM scanned for DTC codes at a transmission shop or Auto zone or Parts Source since they scan for free.
The ECM should have DTC code in it's memory on how the transmission is Performing and have the Transmission line tested for Fluid pressure.

It could be a simple as the transmission filter falling off causing the lost of transmission fluid pressure. Check the transmission fluid too.

I had this exact problem on my 2005 5.3L Suburban... It would shift into 1 and 2 and reverse, but not 3 and 4.
I took it into a transmission shop, and he said the 3-4 shift solenoid was burned up. Wanted 1500 to fix it. Far from home, so I have to pay it.
