Question about Hyundai Motor 2003 Sonata
I have a 2003 Sonata I am the orginal owner. The car has been well maintained. Recently, I have been having trouble starting it. It takes 2 times for it to start up. It dosent happen all the time but frequently enought to cause concern. I brought it to the dealer and of course it started there. They said the battery was low and replaced it . It started doing it again, now the malfunction light is stuck on. I brought it to the dealer last night and left it there, I am waiting for them to call me. I asked him if maybe it could be a plug, he said no yours are platium and I only have 35,000 miles on the car. I asked him if it could be the gas filter? he said no, that its totally sealed in the fuel system and then he tells me that would cost 600 dollars to replace. I just went online and seen the fuel systems have been recalled on the 2003 sonata's. I have not had one problem with this car since I bought it . Oh yes I did, the air conditioner broke and when I brought it in they replaced it, They told me that had been recalled. Other than that no other problems. Does anyone know why this would happen?
It could be difirent problem , it could be the cold start ventil. Ask the dealer what he shall have for diagnostic.they conect a computer to the engine and it shall come up with the fault. All fuel ingnition have a computer box som controll there function and many system have a fault code. if you get a problem the computer save it in the system. So if they have the computer they shall could find out what is wrong. When you try to start the car did you smell gasoline? when you have try to start the car 2 ore more and the car dont start . You shall takke out one of the spark plugs and se if they get wett of gasoline

I am not going to guess, let the dealer do there job, if the Check eng lite is on it should be covered under the 7 year 70,000 mile federal emissions warranty, make sure they don't try to charge you for a covered part, they may if you don't ask.
