It could be the sensor on the radiator , it shall give el power to the fan. It are a temperature switch so open and closed after the temprature on the engine. you shall find it on the radiator. takke of the plug and try to put a conection over they two wires in the plugg. If the fan start it are the sensor , you can check if the are 12 v in the plug.

My '03 acura tls fan motor quit working? There is a 7.5 amp fuse for the "cooling fan" , if that's it, but the fuse is fine. What else could be the problem. There hasn't been any prior noise leading up to...

The "cooling fan" fuse is not what you are looking for. Look for a fuse labeled "blower". If the fuse is good, you need to check for voltage at the blower with the ignition switch in the ON position and the blower speed control on high.

CAR HAS NO AC AND WILL OVERHEAT

look at your coolant level and see if its good, also see if your water pump is good.

both of these are important in cooling the engine.

Xk8 Jaguar cooling fans do not come on at all. I have checked thermostat for engine. I have taken fans out and they work with a battery hookup. I can't sem to find a fan relay. Fan fuse is good. Car...

I had the same problem on my XK8 and I figured out that due to the age, this could be a failure of the thermostat. The thermostat is a valve that is closed when engine is cool and opened when it is warm. Quite often for being old is does not operate properly and the coling liquid is being blocked in one part of the circuit. The temperatuire sensor starts the high fan mode that keeps on all time.
A way to check on that is to see the behaviour of the cooling fans. If the high cooling mode of fan only appear after a few miles nd keep on going from this point it is very lickely a problem a thermostat that has to be replaced. Just have to purchase one in any internet reseller and get your mechanical shop to replace it.

3800 cooling fans quit sometimes causing overheating

Sounds like a poor connection or loose connection, stasrt with the battery and clean and tighten cables. then check starter connections, Don't forget to disconnect the battery before you work on starter connections! There are some good contact cleaners available at your local auto store.

Engine cooling fan not turning on.

actually the contour and mystique both have this problem they tend to overheat and ruin engines and transmissions when the fan quits working the best fix is a kit you get from ford or advance auto parts it makes the coolong fan run all the time the engine is on and this will save you lots of problems in the future, not only am i a master automotive tech but i have owned 6 of these cars. the 96 mystique beng my favorite. mercury version. good luck james

Main Cooling fan fuse keeps blowing.

Taking some of these things apart......

The temp gauge not registering a hot engine is a real bane on Zetec engines - check your coolant level before you do anything else. It may be that the system was airlocked when you filled it and that you got less coolant in than you thought you did.

It takes quite a short to blow a 50A fuse. First, make sure that the fan you've been looking at is actually the one protected by the fuse. Find out if there's anything else it protects. Check that all the fans/motors downstream of that fuse are free to turn (stalled fan motors are particularly good at blowing big fuses), and check all the cabling in between paying particular attention to places where wires pass close close the edges of parts that might chafe against them.
