Power to radiio works ,but there is no sound

1996 eldorado , recently replaced engine and heater core , however now the radio does not have any sound from speakers. check all wiring and fuses and everything is o.k.. is there some type of reset code for the radio or possibly the amp in the trunk can be blown. all worked fine before engine replacement was done.

How do I change my heater core in my 1996 ford ranger

The heater core is located in the heater box, under the passenger side of the dash. Most FORD heater boxes are snap-clipped together, and if you remove the rear panel from the heater box, you will see the heater core...it looks like a smaller radiator...twist the heater hose off of the heater core (x2) from the engine side and gently remove the heater core from under the dash. When replacing the new heater core, be very careful re-installing new hoses to the core...it is a fragile thin metal that can leak almost instantly if tweaked too roughly...replace all parts in reverse order of removal.

How to replace the heater core in a 1991 Cadillac Eldorado.

Not sure if this will help but this is on a 2001 Eldo which should be close to what you have. I would also suggest the library and check out a Chilton's repair manual for you car.

I've got a problem with my heater. I installed a raideator recently. Heater was working prior to installation. Any ideas? Does the 1996 Jeap GRand Cherokee have a thermostat?

i have yet to see an internal combustion engine without a thermostat, unless someone removed it.
the top radiator hose, which you attached to the new radiator, has the thermostat in the other end in a housing which bolts to the engine. on a car that old you should have replaced the hoses too, if they were original. if the engine is running OK, then your thermostat is good. Take a look at the scores of problems here with the headline "i replaced thermostat and still have no heat". when the engine gets warm it opens and lets coolant flow through the radiator to cool. as your core is above the engine, and worked before you began this project, most likely you need to burp an air bubble out of the core. i am sure that you could find a video on youtube of this process.

Hi I have a 96 eldorado and I have a leak problem. A few days ago when my girl friend was driving my car she called me up and said that the car was blowing smoke on the dash board. I took the car home and...

This sounds like the heater core radiator has a leak. After disconnnecting the negative battery terminal and draining the coolant, you will have to perform the following:
1) disconnect the heater core hoses.
2) remover right side sound insulator and glove box module.
3) Remove the programmer shield, if equipped and disconect the air mix valve link.
4) Detach the programmer vacuum and electrical connectors.
5) Remove the heater core cover, leaving the programmer attached.
6) Remove the heater core retaining screws and the heater core.
7) Take the heater core to a radiator shop for repair and re-install.

''sweet smelling'' steam and overheating light is on.

your heater core or heater core hoses are bad and have sprung a leak the sweet smell is from antifreeze this is not a do it yourself-er if you are squeamish about tackling a big job sometimes they can be a real pain to get, like the built the entire car around it.
