Directions for changing the oil pump

THE OIL PUMP IS LOCATED INSIDE THE OILPAN ON THE BOTTOM OF THE ENGINE! YOU'LL HAVE TO DRAIN THE OIL, AND REMOVE THE OILPAN! ON SOME VEHICLES, YOU HAVE TO UNBOLT THE ENGINE MOUNTS, AND RAISE THE ENGINE ENOUGH TO REMOVE THE OIL PAN, SO YOU CAN GET INSIDE

Oil plug location and do you have to remove any componants in order to change the oil filter.

you have to drop the "splash guard"from under the car,its just 1/2 turn screws, the sump plug is on the bottom of the lower oilpan.and the filter is between the firewall and the engine.this is a simple job.....use axle stands/ramps.....do not climb under a jacked up car....

raise the front of the car. drain oil. filter is on the passenger side of the car on the back of the engine. you may need an oil filter wrench to remove the filter. use some of the new oil to lube the gasket on the top of the new filter.

How do l change oil and filter on focus estate 2000.

Well, you'll want to get under your car and locate the oil pan. It should look something like a metal box and you'll find it in the middle of the engine area. There will be a nut, probably 9/16th size, so you';ll need a wrench or socket. When this becomes loose enough, use your fingers to twist it off. Be warned! Once this nut is off oil will immediatly become rushing out. You'll probably want to have a bucket or something to catch the oil. Once the oil has drained, tighten the nut back onto the oilpan. The oil filter shouldn't be far from the oilpan, probably a little bit upwards, you'll should be able to see it from where you drained your oil, but you can also sometimes spot it when leaning over your engine. Be sure to wet the lip of your new oil filter with clean/new oil before replacing it!
