My heater wont switch from defrost to heat on my 1988 jeep comancie

omg a blast from the past, drove my 88 Comanche for 250k miles
nice truck. they shut the plant down to , make the more profitable XJ. (killing the nice comanche)
so when you say defrost you mean the dash lever with same name in the heater controls.. (no rear glass on a pickup)
so those are called dampers

in defrost that is a/c turn on too, do you have a/c option
mine did not.
so what fails. just the dampers and directions of air flow
that it?
i can not figure hot what is not working here.
are you saying the , lever is stuck?

i pretty sure the XJ heater works same in 1988
but there are no free books on 1988
and i sold mine,2 cars, same, year. with books, xj and pu.
this is the year, there are 3 books
body
engine (blue, 4.0L)
trans. (5speed was mine) french transmission
the body book is 2 inches, thick.

i cant remember if mine was all cables or all vacuum
or mix on HVAC controls
and matters. when testing.
my old weak brain forgets that long ago.

  1. got heat problem?
  2. fog up problem? (icing?)_
  3. or damper vent direction problems. (and mode means same)
tell more....?

I need to replace the neutral safety switch on a 1989 Jeep Comanche 5 speed manual transmission

I think you are referring to the clutch pedal safety switch. If so it is located behind the clutch pedal under the dash.

2001 Oldsmobile Aurora Rear Rattle

If it's making a clunk noise when hitting bumps, check the mounting plates and bushings that hold the rear end to the frame. GM made these plates out of aluminum and the bolts that go through the plate and the bushings rot out and the rear end slams against the frame.

Rear axle vibration

If you have that much play in the pinion, your pinion is getting worn, or the nut is loose. You may be able to find a rear end at an auto wrecker cheaper than anything.

89 Jeep Comanche needs front wheel bearings. Removed wheel, caliper, but cant remove rotor. Am I missing something or is the rust still holding on? It looks like it has teeth around spindle. Do I need to...

4x4, correct? Put the nut back on the axle and run it flush with the end, then give it a smack with a hammer to get the axle splines free.
The rotor itself is separate from the hub ...spray with wd40 or other solvent and squirt some where the lugs come through . Put a 2x4 on it and give it a smack with the same hammer. If necessary, alternate at opposite sides. it should break free.

1988 Jeep comanche freon

First you would have to take a look at the fittings for the a/c (where you would ahrge te system at) if the fittings are threaded then it is an R12 system, if there are no threads on the fittings and the caps are red and blue then it would be an R134 system. As far as charging the system to check the compressor, i would suggest not wasting your money on the refrigerant because if something in he system has to be replaced then the refrigerant you put in will have to be removed before any repairs are made. Hope this helps.

Where dose the ground lead to from the gas pump on a 1988 jeep comanche

Ground is achieved through the taillight harness which is grounded to the bed. If you unplug the rear harness the truck will not start unless the black ground wire is attached to the chassis.

I cant fugure out what kind of rear end i have in my comanche

the easiest way to solve it is to remove the axel which is damaged and take the number off of the damaged bearing and replace it with the matching number of the bearing
