The tempreture is above the normal temperature required by the engine there by the coolant sensor will comunivate to the brain box when it is too hot to stop the engine, allow it to cool completely, then bleed the water for the excess air to leave the block engine and the radiator, then try starting,if it does not affect the top cylinder gasket it will return to normal, but also chek for leakage very well.

Security anti theift disarm 1997 pontiac transport

You most definitely CAN. You have the picture on the dash when this happens that says SECURITY or a picture of a car with a lock through it. This a visual indication that something in the car's antitheft system is failing. In most GM cars and trucks there is a hidden system that most people are unaware even exists. From the moment you put your key in the ignition, there begins a constant line of communication between your key's security chip or transponder, to the ignition's lock cylinder, and then to the car's TDM (Theft Deterrent Module). These 3 parts are in CONSTANT communication. If the key is in the ignition, then these parts are sending signals to each other.
The security light illuminates when that signal gets broken, or not seen at all. When the communication breaks, the car misinterprets this as an attempt at theft and goes into antitheft mode. (like it thinks it's being hot wired) The car shuts down because it is not getting that signal from YOUR specific key. This is why the security light turns on and shuts down your vehicle. It will either turn off the starter, or the fuel injectors. The vehicle may run for 2-3 seconds before shutting down. This link explains it pretty well.

Wont start after running for a while. service lights work, radio, headlights but wont crank. just replaced starter, got new battery about a month ago. after 5-8 hours car starts with no problems.

Hot does make a difference. You say it won't start, but does it crank and not start, or not even crank? If cranks but will not start, any electrical part may fail as it heats, and when you shut it off the engine gets much hotter since coolant is no longer circulating. Thus, a marginal crank or cam sensor, or coil/ignition module may work while cold of while engine is running, but fail when you first turn car off.

I try to start my Lincoln town car and when I turn the ignition on the electrical battery system goes down but won't turn over. I have installed a new car battery

You would need to take a meter or test light and check for power after the battery. You could have a bad connection inside one of the cables.
There should be 12 volts at the battery post and at the cable end on the starter. Also be sure and check the ground connections.

Wont start has new fuel pump and starter turns over fine going down the road and it spudders like it ran out of gas it just turns over not even trying to start

my 1988 towncar used to stop running on the open road at 70 mph after 20-25 miles of driving.......after sitting on the side for a 1/2 hr it was start right back up like nothing happened. After 2 frustrating weeks and 3 different mechanics I found out through another towncar owner that the ignition coil is getting hot and is causing the engine to shut off...Lo and behold 28.00 and 20 mins solved the problem. Just invest in a good Ignition coil from NAPA or SUMMIT PARTS

When I turn my car off the air conditioner still runs-I needed a jump the other day because it ran all night and wore the battery down.

OK, if the relay for the A/C fan is bad, then the radiator's fan will keep running after turning off the ignition. Also, if the fan for ventilation of the A/C in the cabin stays on after the ignition is turned off, the relay for that is bad.

Good luck on this repair.

Engine shuts off going down the road

We had a similar problem and it was the connector that connects the ignition module (bottom of coil packs to the wiring harness. The technician spread the socket connectors and it solved the issue.

1996 Saturn SL, 4 cylinder, auto trans.. Car starts and runs fine. However if you turn off the ignition when the car is hot, the car will not start again until the engine cools down. When you turn the key...

Form the saturn..........when starters age they tend to have problems when engine hot.You need to replace the starter.
As for the wagon it sounds like some sort of ignition problem if it's turning but not starting........I have seen o2 sensors cause this behavior. However to be sure you need to obtain an OBDII code reader to be positive of the issue.
Thanks for choosing FIX YA!
