If this is an automatic then your car uses transmission fluid.

Yes, it uses transmission fluid. It normally does not have to be changed.

It does not ever have to be changed unless you are running it in extreme conditions. This is why there is no dipstick to check it. Car manufacturers are making transmissions and fluids so much better that you do not have to do anything to service them.

All automatic transmissions use fluid, all the electronics do is control solenoids that divert the fluid to different passages in the hydraulic valve body

Have the codes read. For the speedo, most likely the output speed sensor on the transmission. Check the brake fluid for the light

My Toyota Yaris refuses to start after the key fob fell apart whilst starting yesterday. It is as though the immobiliser is on partially or fully. The electrics are fine and the started motor seems

Most likely there could be three reasons for your problem:
1. Gear selector switch on the transmission has poor connections at P and N. (Adjust or replace the selector switch assembly, if it is automatic transmission).
2. Starter motor assembly needs overhauling/ repair.
3. Harness wiring.
Even though if the immobilizer system is armed, the starter should run normally but the car would't start.

Driving manual for Toyota Vitz model 2000 fully automatic

The name "Toyota Vitz" has been used consistently in Japan, with most international markets receiving the same vehicle under the Toyota Yaris name, or formerly as the Toyota Echo in some markets for the first generation.

Then, I just could send this link:

Good luck (remember to rate this answer).

Check auto trans fluid level in 2008 Yaris

I don't know how many models this affects, but I had heard that some manufacturers are no longer putting in a dipstick to check automatic transmission fluid. For example, check the "Tips and Warnings" box (lower center of page) at this web site. Your car may be one of those affected. You can check with a Toyota dealer to be sure.
