We are USA based, this is not a power plant or car used here, sorry but won't even venture a guess, have no lists for that code, all our codes are like this example P0171, C1432, it depends whether it a body code or an engine management code, P is engine B is body.

Check the air flow meter as well the two are linked,if you fit a new egr it will need to be programmed to your car,..when the egr is working you should get a drop in airflow,if you dont then the egr is stuck open...when it closes your airflow should go back up..

Where is the EGR valve on a renault meganic senic X reg

EGR is exhaust gas recirculation valve. Its works kind of turbo chargers sometimes egr takes some of still fuel rich exhaust gases and injects in intake back order to save some gas and cleaner exhaust gases for environment You should locate your exhaust manifold and fallow smaller size piping coming out of it one of that pipe goes Egr

EGR faults

1.6b) Symptoms of faulty EGR
Associated OBD2 error codes DTCs: P0400 - P0409; P1403 - P1409 other common codes can include 'multiple misfire P0300'

The EGR has two possible fault modes either it is 1) open when it should be closed or 2) closed when it should be open. (See also DPFE faults)

'Open' faults
  • Erratic idling: 'hunts' at idle with erratic engine performance when running. This is due to the air ingress through the split diaphragm or the EGR valve being left open, either event compromises the intake manifold vacuum and in turn this interferes with the ECU's ability to deliver accurate fuel to air ratio for a given engine speed.
  • Sudden engine stall: In addition to the rough idle, a hot running engine when quickly brought to idle (after the car comes to a halt at a junction) can stumble and then stall. The engine will hesitantly restart immediately: this is significant difference to Crank and Camsensor error.

'Closed' faults
  • Misfire and 'pinking': if the EGR is jammed closed or the exhaust feed pipe is blocked (with baked on carbon deposits) the engine runs lean and very hot, so hot in fact that the fuel air mix in the cylinder can spontaneously ignite causing a misfire. The misfire if pronounced can, in turn, be detected by the engine knock sensors (P0300) leading to a 'check engine light' warning and reduced engine speed limitations.
Inherently diesel engines create more soot in the exhaust and as a result blocked EGR assemblies are more common in diesels than petrol engines.
  • Burnt Exhaust Valves. Prolonged exposure to excessively high ignition temperatures brought about by a blocked EGR system can lead to exhaust valves being over heated to the extent that they become distorted and so no longer seat properly. Poorly seated valves prevent good compression.
  • Surging: A sticking EGR valve can lead to an effect of rhythmic surging a bit like the MAF fault, especially in turbo charged engines. Normally on a warmed up engine the vacuum from the inlet manifold opens the EGR. If the EGR fails to open promptly the turbo can be subject to a slight boost. Extra fuel/air mix is pushed into the inlet manifold as a result, increasing pressure (decreasing the vacuum). Without vacuum in the inlet manifold the EGR closes again but if sticky only does so slowly. This may allow inlet gases to flow through the EGR into the exhaust manifold for a split second. There is a time lag in the sequence of these events leading the engine to surge in cyclical manner.

Ive got a 1983 Subaru GL wagon, Automatic trans. non turbo. My problem is that the brake fluid, stop lam, and A.T. Oil temp warning lights on the dash stay on constantly. I noticed that whenand if they...

Yes it may be the wires are shorting or its actually the problem with instrument cluster.
Also get the vehicle scanned for any error codes stored in computer this will confirm whether is short circuit issue or actual problem:------
I suggest you few help links with accurate solutions to refer/go through:----Click the link below:------

First time remove the engine cover

tdisline_573.jpg

Then you will see the engine

tdisline_574.jpg
A - Airflow ducting
B - Integrated EGR/ASV valve
C - Crankcase vent tube (CCV)
D - Timing Belt cover
E - VNT actuator - part of turbocharger
F - Engine Oil Fill cap
G -Turbocharger control unit
H - Alternator
I - N75 / turbocharger boost pressure control valve
J - Mass Air Meter
K - Fuel Filter
L - Power steering fluid reservoir
M - Screen Washer Fluid
N - Coolant Expansion Tank
O - ABS stuff
P - Ducting to Intercooler
Q - part of CCV piping connector
R - N75 / Turbo Pressure Control solenoid
S - vacuum reservoir ball
T - FLex couplling for Exhaust system
U - Hot side of Turbo: flex pipe
V - Air throttle actuator
W - Pipe for EGR

P0406 - Exhaust Gas Recirculation Sensor A Circuit High

Early Models : The EGR valve control the amount of exhaust gas routed to the intake manifold. Vacuum is applied to the EGR valve in response to the throttle opening. The vacuum control the movement of the taper valve connected to the vacuum diaphragm in the EGR valve.

zjlimited_230.gif

Late Models : The EGR volume control valve uses a step motor to control the flow rate of EGR from exhaust manifold. This motor has four winding phases. It operates according to the output pulse signal of the ECM. Two windings are turned ON and OFF in sequence. Each time an ON pulse is issued, the valve opens or closes, changing the flow rate. When no change in the flow rate is needed, the ECM does not issue the pulse signal. A certain voltage signal is issued so that the valve remains at that particular opening.

zjlimited_231.gif

Symptoms
- Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light)
- Engine hesitation

Possible causes
- Harness or connectors (EGR volume control valve circuit is open or shorted.)
- EGR volume control solenoid valve
- EGR temperature sensor and circuit

Possible solution
- Repair EGR harness or connector
- Replaced EGR volume control solenoid valve
- Replaced EGR volume control valve
When is the code detected?
- An improper voltage signal is sent to ECM through the valve

Hope helps.

Yellow warning light coming on that looks like exhaust pipe

You need a code scanner hooked up to it to find out why that light is on. If you have an autozone near you,go there they will hook one up for you. Takes about 30 to 40 seconds. If not call around.
