SOURCE: peugeot 206 glowplugs

If your not good at mechanicing I suggest you take the car to someone that is experenced.
The reason I say this that we have loads of cars into the workshop with glowpugs broken in the head of the engine with the result of us having to remove the cylinder head.
What happens is that the tip of the glowplug breaks in the head when being removed if it is not done properly.
There is a way that we have found that they can be removed easily without breaking them.
Firsty run the car engine until warm, then we pour a little Diesel fuel onto each plug & let them sit for 15mins or so.
Then we remove them with a deep socket 1/4" drive so we don't put to much pressure on them.
they should screw out easily but we turn them out 1 whole turn then back a 1/4 add a little more diesel ( thimble full) & gently screw them out.
If they start to get really tight screw in again a little then screw out again.
The nuts that hold on the wires just need to be nipped up with a small 8mm spanner, but do not over tighten.

SOURCE: peugeot expert 20 hdi

Hi, I have a 2.0HDI Expert which was doing the exact same thing as yours, blowing thick black smoke, sluggish and loss of power on gradients, a hissing sound and surging. I replaced the air flow meter but that didn't help. I was told to replace the turbo but a turbo expoert told me not to as it would blow white smoke if it was faulty. I was then told to replace the injectors but a diagnostic test showed them to be functioning fine. I was then told to look at the intercooler which had thick sludge at the lower left pipe. I replaced it today - Sunday 12th July and it is now driving like a new van. It now pulls me up gradients with ease in 4th and 5th instead of having to drop gear to get to the top. I got a replacement from Euro Car Parts for £147 inc VAT. To tell if this is your problem, look through the gaps in the lower section of the bumper at what looks like the radiator and look for sludge over the inside of the bumper and all over the pipe where it joins the back of the radiator (intercooler). Also open the bonnet and look down behind the grille for the same sludge. Hope this sorts it for you. Barry, Newtownards, Northern Ireland.

SOURCE: peugeot hdi not accelerating fully and oil leak from turbo

Change your engine oil along with oil filter because the same oil is used to cool down your turbo and any dirt means you're going to damage your turbo. Also check the diesel/petrol filter and replace it if not serviced in last two years. Check the hdi pressure (computer diagnose in a garage) because if it is not high enough you can't gain the desired acceleration. If injector seals are leaking then obviously pressure leaks. Clean your turbo sorrounding and check the leakage of oil. In solenoid area If its not enough to drip down or just a little amount that sits with dirt then don't worry (as caused by solenoid seal wear & tear) it has enough life to cover another thousands of miles. Find this solenoid and let it replaced. But if it is from your turbo fan then it doesn't comes out but goes directly in engine to burn with fuel and you can't even find a drop around your turbo housing. Best way is to keep your car serviced in regular intervals.

My peugeot 206 diesel keeps cutting out, now it

In my opinion cut off problem occurs if engine is not getting sufficient fuel and/or air. Clean the air filter, turbo filter and fuel filter. Check the continuity of diesel flow from filter to hdi pump. If you haven't found any problem there then the possibily the hdi pump and injectors section needs to be checked. If the car has done more than 100000 miles then clean inlet and outlet manifolds including check of turbo and EGR valve. Do everything whatever possible before you take your car to garage. If there is no luck then let your car diagnosed and check any error code recorded by ecu.
