Need to add coolant, where is radiator cap?

No idea

No vehicle to refer to

If your adding --your best find & repair
the leak in the coolant system

You add to the system through the coolant fill cap, if you
have no radiator cap

If you follow the top radiator hose, you will see it

The big white container is a coolant tank, degas bottle,or over flow tank

That also has to have coolant & is checked when cold

How do you add coolant to 2003 Suzuki volutia?

is the radator low>? or just the side expansion bottle.
look when cold.
how ? as in every step and fact?
first you need to know what is in there first.
id bet not.
if you mix the wrong AF, it turns into snog slime balls from H3LL and
you burn up a good engine, STOP. do not GUESS.

if you bought the car new, and this is the first time 11 year old coolant is RAT nasty. (hopeless case that)
then get the system a full flushed and fill.
if you do that ever 2 to3 years, then you already know what is there.
like we do. we keep a log in the glove box, so we dont forget this.
I run top brand Prestone AF coolant.

on the hand , say its all good, and you know what AF to use
the RAD is full, and only the side exp, tank is low
cold engine, fill to the fill line on side tank. (i use mid of low /high line)
easy huh and was in the glove box operators guide all along.
good luck,

Have a 2007 pontiac g6 3.5L engine. Replaced water pump; very simple procedure . Drained system and all but now it won't take the normal amount of coolant . Just fills the expansion tank and no more ....

if you are sure there is enough prestone in the radiator, start the car and let it warm up till the thermostat opens and the fluid level drops, then continue to fill the bottle.most newer vehicles have a valve you can open called the bleeder which should be somewhere on top of the metal coolant lines above themostat level. hope this helps

Just need to know where to put the coolant

If you don't have a radiator cap or a cap in the upper radiator hose, you have to add through the Overflow. Cavaliers are this way. It takes forever to burp the air out of them. Be careful that you don't stop before all of the air is out. An aid pocket in the cyl head will damage your engine.

My 95 Ford Escort has slow acceleration and my check coolant light is on even though It has been filled. Is there a difference from radiator coolant and windshield wiper coolant?

they are two totally different things.the wiper fluid only cleans the windshield, the radiator fluid/coolant is for keeping the engine cool,
please do not mix them up as considerable damage could occur.
the coolant bottle has a bigger (normally) metal cap about 2.1/2 across.with a seal around the inside edge, whereas the washer fluid cap just pops off to fill it.please check your handbook.

Engine is overheating and I need to put coolant in, what coolant do I use and where to I put it?

A 91 should have regular green coolant. Make sure to read the label on the bottle. Sometimes it is premixed and some times you need to mix it yourself. If you have to mix it your self you will use 1/2 coolant and 1/2 water.

You can add it directly into the radiator through the radiator cap. Make sure the engine is cold before you remove the radiator cap!. Once the radiator is full you can top off the overflow container. It should be on the passenger side of the car near the battery. It will be the white bottle with a black hose going into it.

Do not mistake this with the washer bottle. The washer bottle will have the blue cap.

How do I change the coolant

On the bottom of the radiator, there is a drain valve, just open it and drain fluid into a container, if you want faster drain, remove bottom radiator hose.

How do i put coolant in a polo 1.4 year 2000

open radiator and fill the radiator. open expasion tank and fill it to the FULL mark.
start the engine with the radiator cap off. keep topping the radiator up as the air comes through the system and the level goes down. keep it FULL. top up the expansion tank if necessary back to the full mark, do not fill it to the top you will only get coolant all over your engine bay!
gently rev the engine for 20 seconds just to send the water round and get some air out of the system. top up both radiator and tank again if required. refit the radiator cap and expansion tank cap. go for short drive. check the levels again (be careful with the radiator cap since the coolant will be hot now!) - should be settled now.

ready for the road!

Slow to rapid coolant rise after engine is shut off

I had a similar problem with my 99 taurus. I had an expansion tube on the top of the plenum stopped up, the steel one. I took my garden hose and started testing to make sure water flowed through all of my system after i had put new heads and gaskets on mine. That tube probably was the original reason for my blowed head gasket, it got hot...I just took it off and ran a wire through it and blew it out with air hose then replaced it, maybe this is your problem.
