Question about 2007 Volkswagen Jetta 2.5 Sedan
How do I check the power steering fluid?
There isn't any. The new MKV Rabbits and Jettas use an electro-magnetic type power steering system. This does not use any fluid

Look under the hood, you should see a cap that says power steering. take it off and read the dipstick, or on some you can just look at the level right through the tank.

Its located next to the windscreen wash bottle on the front right of engine bay, unscrew the cap which is also the dipstick and wipe it clean.Put the cap back into the bottle but dont screw in just dunk it flush with the bottle and lift off and the fluid should be on the high mark on dipstick or if you prefer, just remove the black plastic cover and you will see the container and high mark(min/max).If you want to change the fluid just use a syringe(no needle) and **** all the fluid out(leave a layer on the bottom) and pour in fresh fluid.I did this on 3 weekends so eachtime i sucked out most of the old fluid and the system should only need this every 2 years and last much longer.Keep dirt and dust out and clean around any surfaces before removing the cap etc.
