I just bought a 2008 jeep wrangler and my hood is lifting 2 to 3 inches off the frame when I'm driving on the highway in wind speeds over 15 to 20 mph. I've owned two jeep wranglers in the past and I've never had this problem but chrysler keeps telling me this is normal. What's normal about a hood that is lifting off the frame?

There is a recall on the hood latches. Should have gotten a notice of it.

That said, at 70 MPH while drafting behind 18-Wheelers, I have still seen my hood lift up an inch or so, pretty scary.

Some people swear by the steel rather than rubber hood latches.

Go back to the dealership and SCREAM, that may fix your problem.

2008 Jeep Compass is stuck in 4 Wheel Drive with exclamation point by the 4 WD indicator...

If you are driving on the highway in 4wd drive the poise may be from the tyres trying to slip and equalise the drive line torque that is building up . Rule of thumb for all 4 wd vehicles is to restrict 4wd to loose surfaces (gravel-snow-ice -grass- mud --any surface that allows the tyres to slip) to relieve the torque wind up.

Why is my 2005 jeep wrangler overheating while driving highway speeds and cool at an idle. Even after replacing the water pump, the thermostat, and the radiator????

If this vehicle has a clutch type fan it is probably the problem, good at idle but once the rpm's speed up it does not keep up with engine speed, thats why it heats up at highway speed.
Difficult to diagnose because you cant always tell if it is spinning as fast as it is supposed to be.

Got a 97 jeep wrangler 3 inch body lift and 4 inch suspension lift running 35x12.50x15 mt. when driving it seems to wander in stead of track straight. what do i need to do to fix this? it has rubicon upper...

That may be normal with 7 inches of lift and large tire. If it has not been in for an alignment after the install I would do that ASAP. 35" tires are expensive to burn up.

2001 Jeep Wrangler 4" suspension lift

Jeep's transfer case output is poor for lifts over 2-3 inches. A transfer case drop should have come with your 4 inch lift, but if not you should be able to purchase it from quadratec.com or 4wd.com. You shouldn't drop it much more than an inch, since engine will be rotated into your firewall, besides, transfer case drop reduces ground clearance. The spacers go between your frame and you transfer case skid plate. A transfer case shift linkage bracket is also required to maintain its alignment. Then if it starts making noise, the dealer has a TSB parts kit to fix that. A better solution is a Slip Yoke Eliminator and extended rear driveshaft, but you'd be looking at about $450 and a days worth of work. Good luck.
