If you are going to change the convertors I would just replace the first one closest to the engine. But when a computer code says "bank" they usually are refuring to the Oxygen sensor that is there , they are classified as bank 1 and bank 2. 1 being closest to the engine and 2 being farther down the exhaust. If its a computer code that told you bank 1 you might need to look at your oxygen sensor instead of your catalitic converter.

Can you tell me where is heated bank 1 oxygen sensor located at

Bank 1 is always the same side as the number one cylinder. Bank 2 is the other side of the engine. Sensor 1 is always before the catalytic converter and Sensor 2 is always after the catalytic converter.

I need the location of oxygen 2 sensor on 96 Maxima

bank 1 refers to the side of the engine. on a four cylinder there will onlyu be a bank one. a v-6 will have a bank 1 and a bank 2. Bank 1 will be on the same side of the engine as cylinder number one. Bank 2 will be the opposite side. Sensor 1 is always before the catalytic converter. Sensor 2 is always after the catalytic converter.

So , for example, if your looking for Bank1 Sensor2 it will be in the exhaust pipe after the cat on the same side as the number one cylinder.

P1130 CODE FOR 2000 TOYOTA SIENNA

The air/fuel ratio sensor has gone bad (basically the O2 sensor). The code P1130 is Bank 1 Sensor 1.
Sensor 1 is before the catalytic converter coming off the exhaust manifold. Bank 1 is which ever side cylinder 1 is on your engine. In this case its a sideways engine and its closest to the firewall.

What is code p1055 2003 Toyota Highlander base model

The code 1055 is brand specific, and for Toyota it means there is a problem with the heater circuit for the O2 sensor bank 2 sensor 1. That is the sensor in front of the catalytic converter or split and on the side with cylinder number 2 which may be the passenger side.
The sensor could have failed, or it could be a problem with the power source for the heater inside the sensor.

How many oxygen sensors does my 1994 toyota camry V6 have? How do I find out which sensor is bad? I have check engine light on.

v-6 has two O2 sensors, one located in the exhaust manifold and the other near the catalytic converter

Hi, I need to take my 2001 Mazda 626 4cyln for SMOG check in CA. But its check engine light is on, diagnosed as code P0421. Appreciate your help to fix this problem, or just to pass the check. Thank you.

CODE P0421. DEFINITION-CATALYST EFFICIENCY LOW-BANK 1. EXPLANATION-THE OXYGEN SENSORS MONITOR THE CATALYTIC CONVERTERS ABILITY TO STORE OXYGEN. PROBLEM CAUSES- 1. CATALYTIC CONVERTER DEFECTIVE (FAILURE POSSIBLY DUE TO #2,3, OR 4) 2. ENGINE MISFIRE OR RUNNING CONDITION. 3. LARGE VACCUM LEAK 4. ENGINE OIL LEAKAGE INTO EXHAUST-VALVE GUIDE SEALS, PISTON RINGS. THE PCM HAS DETERMINED THAT THE WARM UP CATALYST EFFICIENCY FOR BANK 1 IS BELOW TRESHOLD FOR THE CURRENT ENGINE OPERATING CONDITION. (BANK 1 IDENTIFIES THE LOCATION OF CYLINDER #1, WHILE BANK 2 IDENTIFIES THE CYLINDERS ON THE OPPOSITE BANK).

replace O2 sensors, or your Catalytic Converter.

2005 gallant with O2 sensor engine light is one...how do I fix it?

have the engine light code scanned, and it'll tell you if it's bank 1 sensor 1, bank 1 sensor 2, bank 2 sensor 1, bank 2 sensor 4.

Bank 1 is on the same side as Cylinder 1
Bank 2 is on the opposite side of Cylinder 1

Sensor 1 is located before the catalytic converter.
Sensor 2 is located after the catalytic converter

96 Camry 4cyl. 111,000mi. CATALYTIC CONVERTER(manifold) failing

As long as the area you live in doesn't require emission testing, you don' need to fix it. It won't hurt anything. But you will have to stare at the light or put tape over it.
