Hi! You say you put gas in the intake? does it try to fire? if not when turning the engine over is the cam revolving? i.e. are all valves opening and closing if NOT then you have a rather large problem. Cam chain/belt broken or maybe Cam snapped?
Sorry to bear bad tidings if this is the problem? if not the cam try Ecu (Brain) as if this goes ponto then you'll never get the darn thing started.
Good luck!

My 1991 XJS V12 has been sitting for 9 months low fuel, added fuel and tried starting, it turns over fine but does not fire, is there a way to check the fuel pump or if gas is getting to the engine?

first check for a spark thats more than likely ok. the most poss cause is the fuel pump. on the the fuel rail there is a pressure test point like a tire valve. connect a pressure test gauge and crank the engine you should get about 28 -36 psi if not the pump is more than likely stuck, try giving the fuel tank bang with your fist with someone cranking the engine remove spare wheel and trim board for access most likely the moisture in the remaining fuel has corroded the pump, good luck

Jaguar xjs 1995 v12 engine lack of power

I would start with a tune up, then isolate any symptoms other than lack of power if it persists, like rough idle, sputtering, jerking, engine trouble codes, etc.

Position of the rotor at tdc on 86 jaguar xjs v12

The TDC Sensor on the XJS is in the front of the car -under- the crank (main) pulley. The Speed Sensor is under the car attached to the flywheel cover. Two wires, two small bolts on each, they are also identical parts. The engine starting or not starting and just cranking is dependent on these two sensors. The other sensors all send readings only when the engine is running. The Coolant Temp Sensor on the front top of engine block can seriously effect engine starting and running. All sensors wire back to the CPU, all sensors need to be working and not faulty.
