yes the engine is turning over

    1.  Check for spark.  Are the spark plugs firing?
    2.  Check for fuel.  Pull one plug, and you should smell gas from the hole after cranking.
    3.  If the car was operating fine before, then most likely you have pinched a wire harness somewhere or pulled on wires connected to components and created an open.

How far did you have the car disassembled?  Is everything reconnected properly?

Its a shot in the dark but i had the same sort of problem. make sure all your earths are sconnected. The problem i found was that it was a voltage drop. try charging the battery and starting.

Double check that you didn't unplug something in the mount change or a ground wire left off a bolt on the mount.

I have a 2005 mazda tribute. Changed the crank shaft seal. Put it all back together now the car turns over but will not start. Anyone know what it could be?

Does it have a crank sensor? If it was the front seal you could have unplugged it or damaged it some how. Check for spark..

Change front main seal , leaking oil around timing chain cover. could be seal around harmonica balancer.

yes, I just changed one of these recently. Had to take both front and bottom off engine. Very difficult repair, as there are no good jack points for the engine when you have all the motor mounts off.
Here is procedure I would recommend.
Remove starter and engine to transmission brackets front and back.
Remove transmission starter gear cover.
drain oil and remove oil pan.
put a block under the crankshaft and jack to release weight on motor mount.
remove front motor mount (by serpentine belt)
remove belt.
remove compressor and bracket.
remove crank pulley and vib damper.
remove timing cover. mark timing belt with direction of travel
loosen tensioner gear.
remove timing belt.
remove crankshaft timing gear and key.
remove seal and oil pump housing.
clean gasket surfaces.
replace seal and reverse procedure.

If you have questions, let me know.

Mazda rx8 flooded .brakedown come tried to start engine turned over !then starter got hot ,now dosnt turn over just clicks? any wdvice please

Your problem is common in the RX-8. It occurs when you start a cold engine and shut it off before it reaches normal operating temperature. If your car does flood, you can first try depressing the accelerator completely and holding it (which shuts off the fuel pump) and then crank the motor for about 10 seconds (not longer or you may damage your starter). If this procedure above does not work, here is the technique a Mazda dealership will normally use (to be performed at your own risk): 1. Use jumper cables to connect to another car battery. 2. Unplug Air pump connector (the black circular motor housing to the left of the oil filler cap) 3. Take fuel pump fuse out (number 22, a 20 amp, 3 from the top of the second column of the fuse box 4. Crank for 4 seconds, pause for 2 seconds, repeat for about a minute 5. Leave for a minute 6. Crank for 4 seconds, pause for 2 seconds, repeat for about a minute 7. Put fuel pump fuse back in 8. Crank for up to 10 seconds, if it catches but doesn?t start, stop cranking 9. If not started go back to step 3 10. If started, wait 30 seconds for oil pressure to rise 11. Stand on throttle until white smoke stops coming out of the exhaust 12. Disconnect jump leads 13. Leave to warm up on idle for a few minutes 14. Put air pump connector back on (see note 3) 15. Go for a nice long drive to recharge the battery

Wiper motor does not work on my 1994 dodge intrepid?

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION
(I made images larger at the end of instructions)

See Figures 1, 2 and 3

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the wiper arm and blade assemblies, then disconnect the in-line hose connections. Do not discard the in-line connectors.
  3. Remove the rear hood seal with the cowl top plastic screen. Disconnect the washer hose in-line connectors.
  4. Disconnect the motor wiring harness at the back side of the housing.
  5. Remove the four wiper housing module mounting screws, then remove the housing.
  6. Remove the nut and disconnect the wiper drive linkage from the motor crank.
  7. Remove the three motor mounting screws. Lift the motor and mounting plate out of the housing.
  8. Disconnect the motor harness grommet from the housing.
To install:
  1. Assemblethe linkage to the motor. Make sure that the crank fits over the D sloton the motor shaft. Tighten the mounting nut to 90-106 inch lbs. (11-14Nm). Be sure the motor is still in the park position before assemblingto the linkage; if it is not, temporarily connect the motor to thewiring and operate the switch to park the motor before assembling thelinkage.
  2. Position the wiper motor and install the retaining nuts until snug.
  3. Attach the linkage drive crank to the motor crank arm.
  4. Plug the wiper motor wiring back together.
  5. Install the wiper motor cover.
  6. Install the wiper arms and plastic cowl removed previously.
  7. Connect the negative battery cable and check the wiper motor for proper operation.

Knocking at 2 to 3 thousand rpms

If you didnt have the crank ground or the rods resized and over sized bearings instaled then the issue with your engine is beyond advice other than remove engine and rebuild correctly as there is too much clearance and the oil cannot build enough pressure especialy when hot as it thins out and becomes harder to maintain pressure.Your problem is crankshaft bearings have excessive clearances or oil pumps pressure relief valve is jammed/jamming.good luck and hope its just the pump.
