I was driving down the road and i noticed alot of smoke comin out my truck, my ****** kept slippin so i pulled off the road, it was pouring transmission fluid and wont engage in any of the gears but it tries to. i think the smoke that was coming off of it was from the ****** fluid on the exhaust pipes. i poured more fluid into it and it just went straight thru to the ground. could it be the gaskets on it?? please help, i need my truck for my job

The valve cover gasket change is related only to the extent of needeing to remove something else . There is the fuel pressure regulator and the MAF SENSOR talks to the ECU telling the computer how much fuel is needed for proper mixture of thre air passing into the intake. It is the first sensor in the intake duct coming out of the sir filter. Make sure all the injectors are secure in wiring connection and look around for any other that had to be removed. All plugs mean it isn't just one injector. Unplug and replug the MAF. cHECK THE THROTTLE POSITIO SENSOT. iT RIGHT THERE where the fuel likage is attached.
SOURCE: put in transmission in feburary.
you will still need add the proper type fluid to proper fill level, get under the truck, clean up transmission so you can visually monitor where the leak is coming from. Chock the wheels, emergency brake set, start and idle vehicle check for leaks. If trans is leaking it will probably be a front seal (oil will drip from small hole in the bottom of bell housing), pan gasket, loose cooling line to radiator, or rear tail shaft leak ( where drive shaft enters the trans.) Don't forget to check the lines for pin holes and the radiator for leaks.

check if your O2 sensor is working that is the thing telling computer how much fuel to put into motor it is on pipe close to motor your O2 sensor tests how much oxygen is pipe while running and tells to increase or lean back fuel

Make sure you use OEM Injectors. The white smoke might come at a 3.5 from a bad gasket bewteen the intake manifold and the throttle boy or if you have the 3.8 from bad gaskets between the intake manifold and the engine.
SOURCE: motor is burning transmission fluid
on the lower part of the transmission on the radiator is a vacuum modulator that probably has a bad diaphram. If you locate it take the hose off and see if trans fluid comes out. if so replace the vacuum modulator. You will still see smoke for awhile until cleans out of the exhaust.
