I had the same problem when the window froze. When I tried to lower the window it came out of the track that supports the window. I could still hear the electric window working. I opened up the door panel ( about 6 screws) and peeled off the plastic and put it back in the track and it works fine. It took me about an hour to complete.

Power or crank? Either case the rails that hold the window on probably broke. there are slides inside the door that keep the window in place, if a slide broke, or if one of the brackets broke, the window will come down. I cant really recomend doing this yourself as ive had the same issue on other vehicles and pulling apart the door and messing with the slides and stuff in there is a real pain. Hopefully it only fell off the track and you can put it back in place. If not, if your not very handly i would suggest taking to someone.

A. The glass came off of the track.

B. You are going to have to remove the interior door panel and the door 'frame' and re insert the glass back into the track.

Should not be too difficult.

Window fell down driver side on a 2004 dodge dakota so whats the problem

Hello,
Something caused the window to come out of the track. Some times it can be caused by something hitting the window, sometimes hitting a big pothole.

If you're a little bit handy, you should be able to remove the door panel to access the window and put it back on the track.

I hope this helps.

I have a 1997 Dodge Ram. The window on the drivers side door fell off its track. I have the door panel, and the plastic off. How do I get to the window, and put the window back on its track?

I had the same problem on my 97 Ram. Take the door panel off, get some liquid nail, squirt just a little into the two clips that hold the glass. Then set the glass back into the clips and run the window up almost to the top so you can still get your fingers on top of the glass. Run it all the way back down again putting a little down pressure on it. Now run it all the way up, put the panel back on and let it sit for a few days before you roll it down again.
You have to run it up and down to make sure the clips are in the proper position, if yours is as loose as mine was it will slide around in the clips pretty easy.

How do you remove the rear glass on a 1997 dodge dakota. I am in need of replacing my broken glass.

You can start by pulling the interior back by the rear window. There are two tabs on both ends on the bottom frame, you can bend them straight.Try to pull the bottom of the window out and watch out for the hinges to carefully lift up the window itself.

My drivers side window fell into the door on my 2000 dodge dakota 4 door. Can I fix it myself?

You should be able to fix it yourself by carefully taking the inside of the door off. If you have power windows, your window actuator has gone bad which happens often in Chrysler vehicles, and will need to be replaced. Until you get your hands on the actuator, you can jam a piece of paper or cardboard in, to keep the window up. Good luck and thanks for using FixYa!

Drivers side window

The glass should bolt to the window channel on the bottom of the window. Roll the window all the way up and duct tape it to the top of the door.
