Question about 2001 Chevrolet Corvette

1 Answer

Car is not wanting to accelerate

I have a 2003 chev malibu and i just started having problems accelerating over 35mph last week. This week i had: 1. an oil change, 2. new EGR valve put in (Check engine light went on for it) 3. Fuel filter (which we thought solved the problem) 4. Cleaned the system 5. New throttle position sensor 6. tune up with new spark plugs and works. I also recently had my coolant light come on, and put in a new thermostat and had a flush, and new brakes. PLEASE help!!

Why does it hesitate during acceleration?

Way I see it is that you may have a problem with the fuel delivery system or that perhaps the advance is not working properly when you accelerate. The latter is computerized so you might have to use a dealer or someone with special diagnostic equipment.

Have 1999 Chev Malibu 2.4L. On startup at times runs rough, strong smell of fuel, code P0300, check engine light flashes, all other systems test fine. Restarting after about 30 min, she runs smooth.

When I see that code and those symptoms I typically start by looking at the timing belt. When the timing belt gets stretched it will cause this code to come up. The other cause could be a bad Crank of Cam position sensor but we need to eliminate the timing belt as the problem first. To check if the timing belt is the problem do a compression check on the motor to see if you have 0 compression on any cylinders. Once you have done that let me know the results and we will proceed to the next series of checks.

It runs fine one min. then it will stall at lights and stumble upon acceleration, after a while it runs fine again

I just fixed the same problem last Friday on a similiar car... Check the IAT sensor... Thats where I would start... Unless you have a check engine light, then start there..

I have a 2004 Chevy Malibu. Bogs down and stalls with acceleration. Check engine light flashes. Idols fine. Changed the MAP as it had a P0101 code along with the P0300. Changed the plugs 3 weeks ago and...

make sure you have ngk or ac delco iridium plugs installed. Also common problem on the 2.2L ecotec is the cat plugging. Easy check is to remove the front o2 sensor (very easy 22mm wrench) and start the car and rev it. If it revs freely now and does not bog the cat is plugged. They are covered fed. emissions warranty 8yr 80k, all gm dealers stock the cats for the 2.2 ecotec.

Car hesitation

had a problem with a grand prix like that once, was the fuel filter, and injectors, all needed replaced, and it only had 89,000 miles.
Would check fuel filter first. Is it possible you got some bad gas??
