The other day, my husband noticed the light near the rear seat window had remained on all night without our knowledge. 2 days later I drove the car for errands on a 90 degree day. The A/C unit worked fine for the first 30 minutes of travel. Then, the A/C light began flashing and warm air replaced the nice cool air that had been coming out of the vents, what could the problem be?

check and see if both the ac and heat are on at the same time .i suspect the connections to the thermostat are wrong .if it is a 4 wire system .then red is your 24 volts .green is your fan .white is your heat and yellow is your ac [.if there is a r-c and a r-h lug on the thermostat .jump white to r-h and jump yellow to r-c .but only if you still have a problem after you install the 4 wires

the computer probably just needs reset because the seat belt warning feedback is tied in to airbag system. try disconnecting the neg battery terminal for about 5 min

well what I see you have two problems with you A/C ..1- if the compressor is cycling very fast , the system is probably low in freon , this ban takes like 4lb of freon, now, 2-if we have the right amount of freon and the rear A/C don't work and all the vents are working fine back there for sure the problem is the expansion valve located close to the rear evaporator , that valve get stock open allowing to much refridgerant get in to the evaporator and no cooling at all ,in the back,... you can also have a bad low pressure switch located on the accumulator, making the compressor cycling very fast ..the first you have to do is check the pressures if they are OK , change the low pressure switch..then go to the second problem
