My 1980 VW rabbit diesel PU keeps stalling and I cleaned all the filters and screens. I even dropped the tank. I heard there was a recall on the fuel tank breather or the gravity valve. Is that true? What...

There are two fuel solinoids on the fuel pump, if one is not getting a full 12V then it will starve your engine at idle. They both look the same with one wire going to them, have a look at them at idle and see if they get 12V. Or, remove the 2 wire, splice in 12 from the battery positive to them both and see if the problem goes away. Note: The engine will keep running when you take the key out if there is 12V going to these so you'll need to unplug them to stop the car but at least you'll know what the problem is and can rectify the voltage. Cheers bro.
