I have a vibration in the front end, it is slight and almost undetectable at slow speeds 35 or lower but when you reach about 70 you can hear it really clear esp when you swerve right slightly. ive been told this could be a ball joint and or a main bearing...

i thought about that too, so i jacked it up and took the tire off to see if i could see any thing that gives me the old red flag and i found nothing but when i put the tire back on and torqued it down i noticed that there was top and bottom play and i didnt think that was quite right...

It could be the bearings are bad but its more likely the tires are just out of balance

no thats definately not a good sign. was it in the wheel, like the lug nuts aren't tight, or was the whole system moving?

The noise would usually be the strut or the control arm bushings. The vibration could also be the component making the noise, or warped brake rotors.

best guess is to have the CV joints checked, make sure that the boots are good in the outside joints. but it could also be the inside joint just has to much wear. you are at the right mileage for either to be the problem, the next time you get the vibration put a little pressure on the steering wheel in one direction then the other and see if the vibration goes away if it does suspect the CV joints. and don't just replace the outside joint replace both half shafts. if the vibration does not change or go away when you put pressure on the steering wheel then suspect lower ball joints.

Discount brake shop misdiagnosed vibration problem, gouged me.

it seems like the brush guard could have been in place of a frame support cross member by removing it you caused the frame to be able to flex causing you the vibration check to see if there is something that was removed in order for the brush guard to be installed if so you must purchase and reinstall this to stiffen the front end.hope this helps you.

ball joints or bent rim. Does it click or thunk when turning? It may be tie rod as well. You can lift it up and try turning wheel by hand and shake it to see how much play there is.
Check the there is a weight on the rim. Every one is supposed to have one.!!!!

Front end vibration

It sounds as though your car has two seperate problems. The first problem with the vibration that goes away when you let off the gas pedal is caused by a bad INNER CV joint. It only vibrates when you are accelerating because that is when the joint is under stress. Your vehicle has two axles, each with an inner and an outer joint. My suggestion is to have a competent shop determine which is the bad side and replace the entire axle. The second vibration which occurs at any speed is most likely cause by either a bad tire, or a bent rim.
