When it first occurred, a mechanic friend replaced cap and rotor. Did not start. Next, changed relays, it started and I drove it home. Two days later, started it, drove 2 miles or so, parked, and then it did not start again. No fuel pumping. Changed fuel pump in tank. The replacement pump was from junkyard, and worked fine when tested outside of car. When put in place, car momentarily ran, then stopped again. Fuel pump not working again. Mechanic friend baffled, thinks it may be a wiring problem/short. Please help! Could it be the second fuel pump? Need direction!
i have the same promblem i cahnged the feul pump changed the relays the car only starts if i kick start it but it swings i have the same promblem i cahnged the feul pump changed the relays the car only starts if i kick start it but it swings

There is probably a fuel relay somewhere in that circuit to, that may be faulty. Check your front drivers side inner fender by shock tower for 3 relays. It should be the middle one.

Since you have spark, It must not be in time. The age of the Acura warrants investigating the timing belt. The belt is supposed to be changed every 80,000 miles. Intake and exhaust valve damage can occur if not corrected. The ACURA is very dependable ,so don't let some mechanic throw your money at it
Coupe, sedan, convertible, wagon, engine size? Also, do not use dielectric grease in computer connectors as this can cause a feedback issue transmitterd by the grease. Use white lithium only.
Its probably was not the spark plugs but your (CAP & ROTOR) this is what control your timing in relaying the spark through your wires to the spark-plugs. There is also a small computer chip the size of large paper clip. This piece is place in the (CAP & ROTOR) that should also be replaced, when you complete a TUNE-UP. Let me know if you have solve the problem or my advice helped you solve the problem.
Hi, Ok you have confirmed that it's not a fuel problem. You need to check for spark. Pull the coil wire off of the coil(secondary lead-looks like a spark plug wire) Have some one crank it over and listen for a popping sound. IF yes, spark is at the coil, that means all ignition sensors are working. Next check for spark at ends of wires after cap. IF no replace cap and rotor. IF yes remove a couple spark plugs and check for fouling(wet, fuel etc...) IF yes replace or clean plugs and retest for starting. IF no spark is present at coil you need to scan computer and watch for rpm signal. IF no rpm signal, replace crankshaft sensor with OEM delco part. BIGGEST problem with these engines is Cap and Rotor burn out.
Carburated vehicles ether have an automatic choke, or the very old ones, a hand choke. Yours has an automatic choke. The starting problem likely is a problem with the choke. The problem is almost certainly not the fuel pump.To set the automatic choke, push the accelerator to the floor, and RELEASE. Then start the engine just like you would a fuel injected vehicle. If this doesn't solve the problem, then the automatic choke needs to be repaired.
The Main relay on your vehicle is defective. When the relay is operating while the engine is started and running, it gets hot. Add the hot weather to the relay and they break inside. The relay is located on the side firewall driverside above the left kick plate inside the car,and is secured with a 10mm hex cap screw (bolt). Replace this relay, and your vehicle should start.
It looks like this;
