Question about 2008 Infiniti G37

Poping sound from the R F wheel area when brake firm and release

2008 G37 (8000 miles) - There is an audible poping or twanging sound comming from the R F wheel area when I brake firm and release. Dealer says this is normal but I cannot find any other G that does it. Any suggestions?

The most likely cause of your problem is a bad caliper or possibly a suspension problem (like maybe a ball joint). The calipers have slides that they have to slide freely on and if they don't they can cause this type of noise.

it can be your parking brake shoe in the rear that is inside the rear rotor. there is a brake pad and a parking brake shoe in the rear

sounds like a half shaft to me try turning in a tight circle and see which side it clicks on left or right

Van makes poping sound when I change gear.


Possible motor mount worn. Stop at a reputable garage, they should be able to confirm for you at a glance.

Pull the wheel off, there is no other way to determine the cause, you could have a loose brake caliper or a worn ball joint, there just isn't anything anyone one thing for sure that makes noise.
