Question about 1999 Volvo S80
Popping noise when turning
OK, I would definitely focus in the area of the left ball joint and/or strut. It could also be some other worn suspension component. Try turning the wheel backing up and applying brakes suddenly. Does popping occur. Stop and go forward same way and apply brakes popping will likely occur again. I would recommend fixing ASAP. When the ball joint fails, the whole wheel comes off and can cause a lot more damage. If you confirm that it is ball joint, I would recommend you get other one checked as well.

Sounds like a ball joint or bad strut. Depends on how the noise occurs and from where it comes from. Does it appear to come from one wheel or another? Could also be power steering linkage.

It's very easy. Just take off the back seat behind the driver. There is a cover , remove it and then you have it. Be carefull ther is a big plastic nut and all is under it - regular right hand thread. Change the o-ring before puting it back.

There are several tabs which hold the glass to the plastic surround. In the center of those clips there is a square cut-out. With the right pressure you can flatten out these clips with a screwdriver to relieve the tension holding the two pieces together. together. Be careful when you install the new lens making sure to use a new seal and to seat it properly. It is easiest to put the clips back on starting with the top with one then one on the bottom. Then go all the way around.
