I have the same problem but it is intermittent. Sometimes the trunk opens using the remote and/or interior control and sometimes it doesn't. I too had trouble understanding the one answer. Yellowhouse could you clarify your answer for us?

Power seat on 96 Cadillac deville wont work after replacing stereo. Any Ideas?

it is not a fuse, it is a circuit breaker in the fuse box, which i believe is under the hood on that car, i would check for bare or shorted wires behind the stereo before doing anything with the power seat.

1996 cadillac deville lost instruments and died while driving

This is how I fixed it, I took the plastic cover off the fuse box under the hood and found a "maxi fuse" was out and replaced it. I was suprised that a fuse could kill all electrical on the car while driving it. How scary is that?
