Well the only way I would fix this is by replacing the head gaskets . most of the **** that you can buy in auto part stores is junk . all it will do is cost you more repairs . it clogs up the radiator , heater core etc...... and it wont even solve the problem

Pull your sparkplugs out and check for plugs soaked with oil.If you find any wet with oil then you have worn valve seals or valve guides my guess would be valve seals.

If you ran it with antifreeze in the oil,the main and rod bearings may be wiped. Also the cam bearings, possibly. I dunno the specific info. for you,but these are a definite possibility.don-ohio

Burning oil smell coming in vents

The interior AC and heat vent air input is in the outside lower front windshield area. You could have a leaking valve cover or other leak onto the exhaust system - making oil smoke that is being sent into the car. Generally this is caused by an overheating of the engine and gaskets dry up and let the oil leak onto he engine. LOL

I have a 1997 Cadillac deville how can I tell if the headgasket is blown

If you got white smoke out the exhaust,it is coolant

If you loose coolant,it has to go somewhere.

You could do a compression test, both dry & wet

I would do a cylinder leak down test, dry & wet

There are products that test your coolant from the
radiator liquids

You could look at exhaust gas emission numbers

You could look at O2 Sensor Data

1994 Cadillac DeVille is running rough upon start and blowing smoke (oil?) I am thinking probably a head gasket or cracked head?

To pin point a blowing headgasket you will need
1)coolant system compression tester
or
2)chemical reaction test for combustion test gas
If it's the org. engine from 1994,with over 150,000 then blown headgasket is a good possiblity.
Tow it to the shop and let the pro to do the coolant pressure test and combustion gas test.
A full head gasket job with head re-surface (if it can be re-use) is worth it.
Shop around on well estiblished independent shops.

99 Cadillac Deville Coolant Leak

Most likely a cracked block or free plug that came out or loose. Other options are hozes, which I believe the dealer would have fixed. A third option is the water pump itself.

1999 Cadillac Deville hadgasket is leaking outside, drives great, no smoke, do leakstoppers work, if not, should I trade the car or get it fixed? what would best fix this problem?

Unfortunately leak stoppers won't typicially work and are generally a bad idea anyway. The ports in the engine need to be clean to allow water to flow through them. When leakage occurs, you are not getting water someplace that needs it. If not already, it is only a matter of time before your leaking into cylinders or exhaust. I would try to change head gasket first. It may solve the problem at least temporarily, but if blockage in engine is causing too much pressure it will leak again. Sorry not much else to say. Not a good problem.
