Question about 1988 Nissan 300ZX

How do I change the headlight bulb on a 1988 Nissan 300ZX?

The enclosure is sealed shut so before I took a razor to it, I wanted to check and see if there is any other way to replace the bulb in the headlight. I followed the Haynes manual but all it tells me how to do is remove the headlamp itself, not the bulb. Thanks!

To repair the headlight, you need to know which of two kinds it is. If it is a sealed beam the entire headlight must be replaced. If it is the type that has a removable bulb, that can be accessed from the rear of the headlight.( the side nearest the engine) To figure out which you have, go to an auto parts store and tell them what vehicle you have and they will bring you the correct part.

1988 Nissan 300ZX Its been running fine, then I went and got an oil change, new tires, and alignment, now, it does not want to idle, and it bogs down when I am trying to drive it, like its not getting...

Try changing your fuel filter. Check your mass air flow sensor. That might be going out. Or someone at that shop you went to tampered with your Idle level.

How do you take off a water pump on a 1988 nissan 300zx?

Pull shroud off for fan, take fan off waterpump, loosen alternator bolt, remove.belts, pull timing cover.that with give you access to's a good idea to change hoses to pump because it's all behind timing cover,I also changed my timing belt at the same time. It's a pretty good job and I did'nt want to have to do it again for a while.
Good Luck

1988 Nissan 300ZX, Installed a second new battery, but car still shuts down, when headlights are in use--alternator or some other part?

Might be...
Your battery is just to get the car started, then the alternator supplies the power to run all electrical and keep the battery charged up. If the alternator fails, it will drain any battery to nothing. You will need a volt meter to test it. Normally a battery has around 13 volts with the car not running, (DC) and when it's running you should get an increase in voltage. If you have less, your alternator is not working.

Check to see if you have power to them with a test light. If yopu do, replace bulbs, if you don't check ground wire and circuit breaker.
