Question about 2000 Jeep Cherokee
There is a loud noise coming from the motor of my 2000 jeep cheroke sport. (4.0) Seems to be coming from the pulley attached to the A/C unit. Some noise from the unit itself as well. Shavings found at the base of the unit. Not effecting the engine preformance, but the pulley has ceized once causing alot of smoke. Turned it right off and restarted it later without it ceizing again. The noise still persists though. Should i replace the whole unit or should just the pulley be replaced? Is it a job for the shop or can it be done at home?
It sounds like the bearing is going bad in the pulley through chrysler i believe you have to replace the whole unit. to do this you will need to recover the freon from the system which makes it hard to do at home
