I have the same problem, and I highly doubt that it's either me touching the lamps or water/moisture in the headlight assemblies. I was VERY careful not to touch the lamps when I changed them, and there's no visible moisture or fogging in the headlight assemblies. The burned out lamps are not shattered at all, but the filaments are broken. My stereo has a voltmeter on it, and it usually reads somewhere around 14 volts. Could high voltage in the battery be the problem?

I have same problem. 2005 Sorento. Low beams go out about every 4 or 5 months. No moisture. Don't touch the bulbs. Always passenger side first then drivers side. Does anyone know why? Is ther a short? I was told by Kia Machanic that it wasn't a short but what is the problem?

There are a couple of thing that cause the bulbs to fail, on e and very common is to touch the glass part of them, the oils in the skin will cause the glass to shatter, the other and most common is moisture getting into the headlight, this is easy to detect, the inside of the headlight lens will be fogged out or you will see water inside, ever had water touch hot glass? it shatters, this is caused by leaks in the electric weld seam, the only fiz is to replace the headlight lens assemblies. You can buy these in the after market fairly cheap from Partstrain.com, I have used there parts and they are very good quality.

I have a 2006 Sorento wtih th same headlight problem. And it's not that any of us are touching the bulb or is it moisture because too many of us have this problem. My buddy thinks it's the wiring. The way the wires run to the headlights, they are near warm things in the engine. When the wires get hot, the bulb thinks it's hotter so it's life span isn't as long. What needs to be done is to insulate the wiring. I have tried this and it seems to be working so far.

2006 colbalt keeps blowing low-beam headlight fuses

The power wire for the low beams is shorting out somewhere. You will have to trace it back from the headlight. Pay close attention to any place it pass through or rubs on metal. Tape the spot up when you find it and move the wire to a better location so it doesn't rub anymore. Hope this helps.

The left headlight only works when it is on hight beam not low beam

the low beam element has burned out in the light bulb itself - buy and install a new bulb,, this will fix your problem. ( your local auto parts store will carry the replacement bulb ).

check for water getting into the housing. Normally lights will last for 2-3 years. Could be cracked lens, seal coming apart.

Low Beams and brakelights burning out, clock goes out occationall

I recommend you chk your charging system. Take a reading at the attery. The charge rate should be in the 13.6v to 14.2 v range. Your alternator is putting out to much voltage. If not at the moment, it is when you lsmps blow. That's what is causing it. Excess voltage can ruin your radio and othe componants as well. So chk it out and good luck -Ned-

Low beam bulb blown 2008 Sorento LX

Welcome to Buying Headlights Anonymous. If you have a Kia, you'll soon own shares in Sylvania.
I have an '03, and if the mounts haven't changed, you get at the bulbs by opening the hood and removing three screws that hold the headlight assemply - large screws in plastic tabs. ONce they're out, pull forward on the inside edge (toward the centre of the grill) of the headlight assemply. Should slide out toward you - might hear a 'snap'. Once it is out, unscrew the 'cap' behind the light, diengage the spring clip and pull out the bulb.
