Air bag pump is running, new airbags . rear bags wont air up.

These Lincoln air suspensions are terrible. I have converted many over to coil springs at a fraction of the cost of replacing/repairing the bags. If the rear bags don't inflate, there is a broken air line to the bags or the bags are leaking

Where are suspension airbags located on 1999 ford expedition Eddie Bauer so I can check for leaks?

Front or rear ? Either way rear are on axle just inside leaf springs and the front should be just in from tires going up to inside wheel well .

I have a 1999 ford expedition Eddie bauer and my air ride suspension pump is coming on about every 10 minutes or so.this is not normal.what's wrong? What do I check first?

Your air suspension is leaking, could be a air bag or line or a fitting or a dump valve. Get a spray bottle full of soapy water and start spraying down the air ride components and watch for bubbles.

I had old plug that I wired to battery and used air hose to pump it up. But you have to have the switch open to add the air !

How to change rear air suspension on 1999 ford

The air suspension can be a tricky thing to mess with. When we were looking to replace just one of the rear bags it was going to be costly. My husband did some checking around online and found Strutmasters.com.
They offered great products at a great price and we were very pleased with the outcome of the replacement of the non air system. If you are replacing the entire system you are looking at a pretty penny. I would check Strutmasters out before you replace the air on your Expedition.

The air bags seam to have a leak I put any thing in the back and the air bag pump runs till it over heats

You are referring to the suspension bags? There is a shutoff which is not intended for your problem. It is either in the rear interior panels close to the hatch opening or in the spare tire well. Look at your owners manual. You are not suppose to drive the vehicle like that. There are companies which repair the bags and you may not need both fixed. You may be able to eliminate the bags with coil springs. Or you may be able to put in used parts to lower the cost.

Air ride suspension 1997 ford expedition

If the compressor is working and actually pumping out air, might need to check your lines dont have a leak by disconnecting them from the bags. If pressured air is making it to the end of the line, then bags may need to be inspected and one or both replaced. However it is more likely that the lines are leaking or the compressor pump needs a service. Just a new set of rings in the unit. Good luck, hope it helps.
