Question about 1994 Jaguar XJ6

1 Answer

Check engine light came on while engine was off, but ignition on

I was in my 94 XJ6 VDP (4.0L6) with the engine off and the radio on, for maybe about 10 min (i had a phone call) and all of a sudden the check engine light comes on. i started the car and drove it for about 15 miles after that, hoping to calm it down but other than poor fuel economy and an annoying little light, the car drives fine all the fluids seem to be in order as well as the sensors for O2 and so on

It might be the battery, check the voltage somewhere for instance in AutoZone store (they do it for free)

I have a 94 Jaguar xj6. the transmission light is on. it shifts hard in maybe 1st and 2nd gear. I've changed the transmission ecu, transmission relay, and fuses that have to do with the gearbox.

Change the xmission fluid and filter. If that doesnt fix it, it could be the solenids, the soleniod pack, what evey they call it on a Jag.

1995 xj6 instrument light come on/off randomly

I had a 94 XJ6 - given the amount of wiring in the dash and under the hood, you may need a dealer for this.
The first thing I would look at is all of the ground connections.

How do you clear check engine light on 94 jaguar xj6 after getting fuel fail code 14

First off, you might need to actually have your engine checked. However, if you know that the engine is in good shape and you're still seeing that pesky check engine light in your Jaguar XJ6, here's a cool trick for how to turn it off.

  • Remove the passenger's side dash liner.

  • Look for the round red connector with a single pink/red wire that is hanging free.

  • Turn on the ignition but do not start the car and then press the VCM button.

  • When the code displays, use a jumper wire to short the pink/red wire to ground for 3 seconds.

  • Turn the key off for 10 seconds and then turn it back on and check for any more stored codes.

  • If there are more use the same procedure to clear them.

yes they do have shocks, but you need a spring compressor to properly and safely remove them.

Ignition but no start

I have a 94 xj6 jag and after a blow out the car will not start. I pulled over and turned the car off. When I fixed the blowout it will not start. I have lights, power windows, sunroof, radio and dash lights but when I turn the key nothing. I cant even get it out of drive in first position. The guages doesn't function either, but the dash lights will. Can some one please help me!!!
