How can I remove rear outer bearing?

New style bearings are all pressfit bearings, if your hub came right out of the bearing assembly, it is time for the whole assembly. The hub assembly has a locking ring that holds the outer bearing race inside the hub, after the wheel hub has been pressed out. Then, after the lockring has been removed it can be pressed out and the new bearing can be pressed back in and then the lockring reinserted. Then the wheel hub gets pressed in.

How to change center bearing on drive shaft for a Hyundia tusion 2005

First that bearing is pressed on(around $30, plus the part). You have to remove the shaft and find some place that will take it off and put it back on. Second, you need the tools to do the job. The socket to remove the axle nut is $25+. Also need a 1/2 inch breaker bar. And a big hammer. Plus a socket set. Remove the tire, remove the axle nut, remove the lower ball joint, pull the spindle back and drive/push out the axle, remove the axle out of the bearing to be replaced, remove the nuts on the bearing, to get the intermittent axle out, Take it some where to get the bearing replaced. Then re install.

    • For right side knuckles, place the locator block to the right side on the Fixture. The side of the locator block with the angle cut goes downward, toward the Fixture. Install the mounting screws and tighten them to approximately 40 ft. lbs. (54 Nm).
    • Install the knuckle in the Fixture as shown, guiding the steering arm to rest on the locator block and the brake caliper mounting bosses on the two Fixture pins.

On a 2000 Ford Escort ZX2 can I change the front wheel bearings without special pressing tools?

No, you definitely will need a press. The bearing is pressed into the spindle. The hub has to be pressed out first, then the bearing has to be pressed out of the spindle. Of course you have to remove the complete spindle assembly. Hope this doesn't ruin your day,, and I hope it helps. Cobra :-)

Front wheel bearing do you realy need to press the bearing out or can you just tap it out with hamer and bar

Wheel bearings are pretty easy to spot if they are done. All you need is listen to where it's humming as you accelerate faster (it gets louder). Now to remove them you either have to remove the wheel bearing assembly housing and press it with a traditional bench press or something like this which does not involve in removing the housing (on car removal). 22fb2c0.jpg
Both would cost money to purchase unless you are a shop though you wouldn't be asking this question. Using a hammer could work but give yourself a whole week trying to get it out or should I say good luck trying too. They are pressed in and the same follows to remove them. Unlike old style 2 pc bearings which come off easily by pulling them out together with the hub and also serviceable (re-greased). Sealed bearings are damaged once it is take off the hub and thrown away or used as paper weight. You may or may not require a wheel alignment depending how the tech did his homework regarding this area. If he is the kind that just rips off everything, not taking account where he could save time, then you'll probably need an alignment for sure. All in all if your worry is how to get it out, you have option of buying them installed in a new wheel bearing housing the a new hub pressed in as well and all you do is to remove the old housing and install the new one at a higher cost. Hey, so what if you can afford it, it would be easier to replace without the hassle of expensive tools. Make sure you follow tightening procedure for the center nut torque procedure or you'll end up breaking the bearing again. Never roll the car on it's wheels without a CV joint in the bearing, you'll crush the bearing and need a new one again.

How do you change a wheel bearing assembly 1991 honda accord exr

sorry to say this but i own a full repair shop and hate when these come in! with out the correct tools it can't be done without wrecking everything. the rotor is pressed onto the hub and the hub is pressed in to the bearing and the bearing is pressed into the spindle and to remove the rotor you need a tool that cost 200 bucks and i don't think they rent it. but if you get the rotor of then remove spindle and it is as simple as any other wheel bearing if you have a press!.

good luck

Can not get the rotors off my 97 hyundai tibaron

Hyundai Tiburon 96-01 uses a outer hub system. To replace front rotors. You'll need front bearings as well. The bearing and hub will need to be pressed out of the spindal. Then replacement of bearing will need to be pressed in. From a shop.Or they can use a slide hammer to remove ,but damages the bearing. Best to buy bearing and have cash for an alignment job too. Then replace front rotors. Rotor and hub install is ez after you get bearing pressed.Rear rotor and bearing are bolt on though.
