Question about 1999 Dodge Intrepid
I have kinda the same problem you had. my car ran fine last night then when i tried to start it, its just a click. one single loud click. i think its the solenoid but i cant find the starter at all on this thing. i just bought it last week. ive been under that car and cant find it for the life of me. i have full power. and the night it ran last it got really cold out for the first time this year....could that have anything to do with it pleeeeze help i have to fix this for as cheap asd possible we just had a baby and no money now no car thank you for your time.
First of all congratulations on the baby. Okay as for the starter on this particular engine it's underneath on the driver side bolted into the transmission housing, the only reason it's hard to find is cause it has a heat shield on it so it doesn't look like a starter, it has three bolts that hold it into the transmission flywheel housing. As for the weather it's hard to say if that would cause the problem I know in my case it was because the power wire plug going into the starter had broken, you might also want to check the relays there is a starter relay and a starter cutoff relay those are located under the hood on the driver's side there is a black fuse panel just take the top off and they're in there. Well I hope that this helps in some way, let me know how it goes, good luck.
