97 chrysler concorde lxi wont blow hot air

before doing anything, make sure your coolant level is up to the mark on the reservoir bottle, and that the car actually reaches correct operating temperature. on this car, temperature is easy to check because there's a gauge on the dash. after warming up, the needle should be about half way up. if it isn't, replace the thermostat.

if none of those things are wrong, then there's a malfunction in one of the blend doors in the hvac box. gaining access to that is extremely involved and best left to a very experienced mechanic.

2001 sebring blows hot air then after approx 20 mins blows cold air. Temp gauge inside car only goes up to about 1/4 mark.. any ideas? Had coolant system flushed.

Sounds like maybe a stuck thermostat. or a blocked heater core. Just cause the system was flushed dosent mean the heater core was cleaned out.

My 2002 Chrysler Concorde 3.5 L (high output) w/ 65,000 miles starts to overheat after driving 45-1 hour. Temp gauge goes up to around 3/4 mark and starts flectuating a little up and down (mostly up) from...

1. check the fuse for the fan motor make sure they operate replace if necessary
2. make sure the fans operate if not replace
3. check lower hose for restrictions/ wear/ swelling soft spots this indicates that the thermostat is suffering blockage, check top hose also for the same. soft spots normally occure when fluid is wasted on the hoses and likely to appear nears a swelling area. Pep Boys quote a price of $275. 00dollars but they didnt say whether parts are included.
4. Manufacture installed the proper stat from the factory stick with it when you cahenge and are notsure whether it was a hi /lo temp you change the specs and cause additional unforeseen problems it supposed to open and close at precise temps anythinf different could cause overheating and computer read the wrong information which will cause the computer to go into a limp mode .

I have a 97 Dodge Concord that the Air Conditioning works great but when put on heat it will not get hot. Any idea to as what could be causing the problem

Is the temp gauge reading normal? If it low it could need a thermostat. If engine temp is ok, then let the engine warm and check the 2 hoses going into the firewall they should both be the same temp. If not then you will need to flush the heater core. If they are the same then you have a heater door under the dash not working

Temperature gauge is up and down

Sounds like youve noyiced the first sign of a failing thermostat. Its now taking more heat to open the thermostat or its jamming on the slide when it opens and closes.Good luck with it and pay special attention to your temp gauge until its replaced.

My girlfriend's 95 concorde was having a problem that sounds like that. Some times when she started the car, the heater control console would not turn on but the heater would turn on full blast. I fixed it by replacing the control console with one that i picked up from the junk yard. Hope this helps you
