Question about 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt
Had new tires put on car and now sounds extremely loud when you drive. the faster you drive the looder it gets.
The deeper or bolder the tread cut will cause more 'road noise'. The only solution would be to replace tires with manufature recommended tread design. You could also increase insulation under your carpetting or spray on "body insulation" on firewall to dampen the sound.
