Renault Megane 1.5DCi Clutch problem

The pedal has stuck at the bottom. Someone has told me that it is more than likely the clutch master cylinder that is at fault. Reno have confirmed this. How do you bleed the system though?

Why does the clutch petal stay stuck to the floor in my 94 honda accord?

They will usually have a bad slave cylinder or clutch master cylinder. See if you see any leaks at those parts. The clutch master cylinder may leak on the back side so you may have to look underneath the dash to see it. Fill with fluid and pump pedal, have someone look while pushing on pedal. It will be wet from the leaking fluid.

How to unstick a cluch disc

Hi Dee:
Sounds as if you have a project. I'd suggest that you approach it one step at a time.
- First, get the slave cylinder working. How do you know that it's not the master cylinder that's not getting fluid to the slave cylinder?
- Once the slave cylinder is working, when the clutch pedal is depressed, the clutch should be "released" as in there should be nothing holding it against the flywheel.
- If the clutch plate is stuck to the flywheel (this can happen if the flywheel gets rusty) there are a couple of ways to try to get it loose. One of the crudest that often works is to put the vehicle in low gear with the engine OFF. With another vehicle, preferrably a truck, and with someone holding the clutch pedal down, try to tow the one with the stuck clutch. Usually a couple of bumps will loosen it. Make sure you're trying to pull on a part that is strong and that won't be damaged.
Hope this helps.

Ford transit 52 plate clutch pedal goes soft then csnt change gear then pump pedal pedal goes back to normal drive for a short while then clutch pedal goes soft again and just repeats as above just bought...

The clutch hydraulic system has a problem-either the clutch master cylinder or the slave cylinder on the bell housing may be at fault.

If the brake fluid is low in the clutch master cylinder reservoir, there may be a leak to the outside. Refill and check for leaks while someone pumps the clutch pedal. Check around the clutch master cylinder (also under the dash- if wet there around the top of the clutch pedal or if wet on the carpet below the pedal, the master cylinder is leaking.) Check the single line from the clutch master to the bell housing where the slave cylinder is. If no leaks found, likely the clutch master cylinder or the slave cylinder has failed internally.

Is it safe: there won't be any further damage caused by running it, but if shifting gets harder and harder to do, that may cause a driveability problem.

Sounds like it could be the linkage. Check to be sure the mechanics are still connected. If so, then you're clutch may need to be replaced.

How do you know if it is your clutch, clutch linkage, or clutch slave cylinder is the cause of vehicle non performance?

confirm if you have fluid leak from master or slave cylinder of if you have damp valve.try to bleed as it is to confirm the fault. If fault does not resolved then check as some times the cause is the damp valve does not allow fluid to flow through to slave cylinder. If your clutch master cylinder is ok, and the slave cylinder as well, start the bleeding by the damp valve which is on the mid way of master and salave cylinders. Then beed the slave cylinder for good clutch.
