I,m taking out my intriped engine can it come up or do i have to
Take it down on the ground. i,m taking out my dodge intriped engine to put a new one in but i would like to know if i have to take it out on the ground. because thats what my mec told me but i,m looking at it and i see that it can come up on top .can you please help me with this problem please

disconnect from the negative battery terninal. locate the starter from underneath. should be front and center. remove the nut holding the large cable on, and the one holding the smaller wire. remove the 3 bolts holding it onto the engine. replace with new one, finger tighten the 3 bolts first, then wrench tighten the bolts. attache the large cable and nut, then the smaller one. replace the battery cable, and try it out.
I just fixed one like yours. When its is very quite near your car turn the key to the run position while listening for the electric fuel pump to run for a couple of seconds. It should be heard every time you put the key in the run position. The pump is in the gas tank.If you cannot hear it then take all the stuff out of your trunk so some one can get in and help you listen. There is a access cover in the back of the trunk that covers the pump. Have the person listen right on top of this cover. If you cannot hear the pump its probably worn out and needs replaced. There is also a fuel pump fuse and a relay. Check the fuse. The relay is under the hood and has many other relays next to it. I just swapped the pump relay with the one next to it to see if the pump would run. All the relays in my Dodge had the same part number on them. They use the same relay in many dodge things in our cars.
Then...after I replaced the pump my car seemed to be running on only 5 cylinders. I had to replace the coil pack under the hood.One of the six sparkplug wires stopped getting spark.
Now she runs like new...

If the engine is a 2.7L. What is most likely wrong is his. The engine out of the 2001 has a different timing gear on the left cylinder head then the one on the 1998. In 1998 the engine computer is a SBEC controler(single board engine controler) an the 2001 is a NGC controler(next generation controler) the timing windows on those gears are in different positions. The controler doesnt know where the timing is.
